Shooter: Gears of war, RPG: Oblivion, Racing: wait tell Froza 2 comes out in about 6 weeks, good games i would recommend, Rainbow Six Vegas, Lost Planet(Japan shooter so make sure its your style first), and right now i have been having a blast with Crackdown.
Call of Duty 2 is a great game to start with. and its free. I just got done playing this game as I just got my 360 and wow is all i can say. Circuit City is selling wireless controller for the 360 this sunday for $10 off. I would snag one of those. This system is freakin amazing. Looking forward to Forza 2 here. Circuit City will price match wal mart plus 10%. I would go there.Â

Or replace that CoD3 with R6 Vegas... If you want, of course. Also, wait for the platinum edition of Dead Rising, that's rumored to have online co-op (and if it doesn't, you still get a great game for cheap)

Adventure-Dead Rising or Crackdown(Crackdown is kinda short so I recommend this as a rental)

And one game I really recommend is Viva Pinata...It keeps you playing for a long time and it cost a bit less than most games...It looks childish but it is awsome.
Games to rent instead of buy would be: Crackdown, Spinter Cell Double Agent, Condemned, and Dead Rising... then if you really want to buy them go for it, but at least you know what you're getting into. As for games to buy I suggest: Oblivion, Saints Row, Gears of War, and (maybe) Hitman: Blood Money. The games to buy have the best re-play value and the games to rent are fun, for a while. Don't mean to offend anyone, that's just my suggestion.
