I'm getting a 360 soon and I'm wondering a few things before I go out and spend $400-$480 on one. I'm wondering if it's worth getting a elite or if I should just get the premium? The reason I don't want to get the elite is because none of the TVs in my house have hdmi, (probably never will have a TV with hdmi). So really what it all comes down to is if the extra 100 gigs is a big deal. A couple other questions I have, is it true that the elite doesn't have Wi-Fi? Finally, will hooking up the elite with the normal av inputs (red, yellow, white) look better then that of a premium xbox?
None of the X360's have WiFi. That's an additional piece of hardware you have to buy. Elite does not offer any sort of upraded grapical abilities other than the Hdmi port. So plugging in regular cables will look the same and output the same.
Basically, all that you personally are getting with the elite is the bigger hard drive. If you think you'll be into downloading TV shows and movies from the Marketplace then you would probably want that. And it doesn't hurt to have that HDMI. That's just room for future expansion. You may decide to get an HDTV. I really think you miss out on a lot without HD. Take this from someone who played on a standard TV for about 6 months before buying a halfway decent HDTV. I don't think there would be a difference in quality on a standard TV. The consoles are virtually the same, save the HDMI port.
