Aside from extra controllers and stuff you need GAMEFLY if you don't plan on buying every single game that comes out. It's like $14.99 a month to have one game out for as long as you want. They have other packages and if you are into movies get NETFLIX it's like $8.99 a month.

More concerned as to what I have to pay for. I've heard grumblings among my friends about having to pay for this and that ,... other than live, is there anything I have to pay for like to use it online (other than games, but thats obvious)

You might have to get a wireless adapter if your comp isn't in the same room as your 360. If you have a laptop you don't but if you have a desktop you might haveto get an adapter. Microsoft tries to rip you off by charging 100 bucks but you can still get a good one on ebay for 40. It still the price of a decent game like nba 2k9 but if you want live you'll need it.

Basically...you might need the adapter like the guy said, you might need extra controllers like the other guy said, and you'll want Live like you said. But uhm, aside from that sort of thing, the money ripping off doesn't start till microtransactions buying things off the Live service.

or, if you have a block buster/ Hollywood Video just get the MVP, its a little more expencive ($20.00/month) but you dont have to wait for gamefly to deliver

Make sure the back of the box says team FDOU.And if you can look through the hole with the barcode make sure the voltage says either 14,2(falcon chip) or 12,1(Jasper Chip). If it says 16,5 its the old zephyr chip and take it back to the store.Alot of new arcades have the jasper in it,the pros have falcons. You can find jaspers in pros but its harder.

be prepared to get it repaired cuz its bound to break (use fedex its faster) but make sure you get LIVE cuz you will be addicted and all costs or repairs will be worth it just to keep playing on LIVE ;)

I'd highly reccomend a play and charge kit. It's a lot better than having to constantly replace batteries.

RROD is one thing to know about and how to handle it as well as the extra costs like 49.99 for XBL and the 99.99 Wireless adapter

Well you will definitly need a play and charge kit, pointless not getting one. Obivously the Live account and games. You will need a hard drive if your getting a 360 without one, at least 1 extra controller if you have any friends, which means you will need another battery pack (not a whole play and charge though, just the battery). You might need the wireless adapter if you cant run a cable. Basically if your need is for all of these things, then buy a PS3, it will be cheaper. If you need none/some of them, buy a 360. Game exclusives will obviously play a part in that decision aswell :P

Make sure you get the extended warranty.. LOTS of problems. Also be prepared to F%&% over blockbuster/gamefly or pay for games multiple times. Other then that' it's a cool system, live is nice, and achievements help to keep games interesting..
