getting a xbox 360 a good idea

i really want a xbox 360 for christmas, do you think it is a good idea given that it is pretty far into its life cycle. i am pretty much a pc gamer and i want to get into console gaming, should i just upgrade my pc until the next xbox 360 comes out, or should i get a 360 for x-mas?

any suggestions?

god no's when the next 360 will be coming out lolz but u wont be disappointed with an elite brilliant console :)

why wont it be able to get online?

though i plan on getting gears 2 and halo 3 now, so at christmas i get to play them. then theres braid, fable 2, geometry wars 2, condemned 2, viva piniata, and banjo-kazooie. so i better start saving money:)

Go for the 360 i guess, is cheap, and gets a lot of exclusive games that PC does not get (Star Ocean, Lost Odsyssey, Fable 2, FF13 etc), while omst PC games are coming to 360, like Dragon Age, Witcher (with better visuals !!!) etc

You could be playing Resident Evil 5 demo right now, that would be reason enough i guess :)

There is nearly nothing bad about the 360. I'd reccomend you don't get the Arcade Version though. 360 isn't very far into it's lifecycle at all really, so now is one of the best times to get one. Maybe if you don't get one for Xmas you can get one in the January sales. Loads of gaming sites and places will be wanting to clear out all their old stock; so you could get a bargain then.

yea and xbox live is supposed to be awesome and better then pc multiplayer and worth the $50 which is not much anyway

Yet, the best PC exclusives are great, Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 to mention some. and you can't play world of warcraft on the 360 but ow well, if you want to get into console gaming, the 360 is your best bet, go for it.

With all the great titles that have been released in the past like month, a 360 sounds like a great investment, or gift to ask for in your situation. I doubt there will be a new Microsoft console until at least late 2010 or even 2011, this being said with no research, just a guess.

Also, you shouldnt have much to worry about as long as you take care of your 360.

Yep, just get one. Especially now that they are down to $199.
