I'm getting the 360 for christmas and well I know next to nothing of the 360. So what's the difference between the Elite version and the Halo one?

Is the RROD still happening on anyone of these?

The original Xbox titles will always be available to download?

Do I have to pay Live on the net? or are there other way to do it

And any other stuff you would be kind enough to tell me..

Thanks and I can't wait for christmas!!

The Elite has a HDMI cable and a 120 GB hard drive while the Halo version has a 20 GB hard drive. If you get live get gold which is 50 bucks for a year.

RROD doesn't happen much on the newer systems anymore.

The original titles will always be up.

You can buy a 1 year membership card at a store and use that instead of paying by CC.

Make sure you get good games liek CoD4 and Mass Effect.

HDMI is the cable you use to hook up to a HD TV.

OK so, if I were you I would definitly get an elite. They may cost more but i think that they are definitly more reliable than the halo edition which is just a regular 360 with a paintjob. As for the games...hmmm...CoD4, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Bioshock, Assassins Creed, and Rock Band. I would say no to the NBA...just because sports games aren't always very good. But thats your call fo course. HDMI brings out the full potentail of the 360's high def capabilities like 1080p. But of course it means nothing if you don't have a HD tv, but nontheless it looks amazing even without high def. Like someone else said you can buy a xbox live Gold card at the store, and it costs $50 for a year, and you will have to renew it each year for $50 again. Some other games that are worth looking at are Orange Box, Oblivion, Tom Clancey games, Guitar Hero, Gears of War, and DeadRising. Hope I was of some help.

Hard question. Halo edition haves a new chip that reduces overheating so the system can be on a lot of time. If you want you xbox 360 to be your media center you should get the elite. the problem is that the elite can't be on a lot of time do to overheating. So it's your choice on whch to get.

I think i'm going to go for the Halo one, I don't have an HD and I doubt I'll get one in the future, I actually like the color And I'm all for the new chip since my whole afternoon will be playing. I think I'll get Mass Effect and Oblivion for now till I get xbox live.

kinda off-topic, does Mass effect has Multiplayer?

HDMI is the cable you use to hook up to a HD TV.

It's one cable instead of using Red, Blue, Green composite cables.
