Ok, I got my guitar hero package before work yesterday... I anticipated getting home playing it ALL DAY. But as I thought about it, that probably isn't a good idea..
I've been reading about some of you saying your hand hurts after a long session. I've played acoustic guitar(blues, jazz, swing, and real technical playing)for 8 years and thought I should pass on advice I learned. First off, all those buttons you are pushing help the "muscle memory" in your fingers workout. If you are playing on hard level and getting so into that game that you feel a sharp pain after jamming, then PLEASE take a break. I can't stress this enough. I've known REAL guitar players who got tendenitis cause they don't know when to stop practising, and these were REALLY GOOD players. The controller teaches you finger patterns like a real guitar. You learn to move down the buttosn and then back up, play in the middle, play in the outside, but not up and down.
I started on easy and got 4-5 stars on every song and beat easy mode in three hours. I didn't realize 'til right after that my hand was cramping. When you play the pain is gone cause it warms the muscles up, but once you relax that pain comes back. So theres two way to stop this: Either you take a break everyone hour or hour and a half, or you play with a friend and trade turns to let your muscles relax. I can't stress that enough. I wrote this because I think the guitar hero genre could live on for a long time... STRUM ON, BROTHAS AND SISTAS!!! Wah-wah-waaaow-WHAMMY!!! wah-wah-wah!
