Hello, i've got Rock Band a few days ago, and I'm using my Guitar Hero 3 Les Paul Guitar for it. Since i got the game without any instruments, I wonder what the best option for the second (Bass) Guitar would be. I saw the Rock Band Guitar at a Friend, and I think it's crap. It's wired and it looks and feels like one of the cheap plastic Guitars that came with the original PS2 Guitar Hero. My options are basically a second GH3 Guitar or getting Guitar Hero 2 with a Guitar (I don't have GH2 yet, so that may be an option). I just wonder: How does the GH2 Guitar compare to the GH3 one? Sure, the 3 had it's issues due to the detachable Neck, but mine works fine and it really feels a lot more quality than the Rock Band one (in fact, at the last session at a friend, we did use 2 GH3 Guitars instead of the RB one). So, what would be your choice? A Second Les Paul (GH3) or the Explorer one from GH2? That one is wireless as well, is it?

I use my Guitar Hero II controller for the bass in Rock Band. I even prefer to use ot more than the wireless from Guitar Hero III. If you don't already own GH2, I would take that route.

I would get the GHII guitar just for the fact that it's wired and doesn't require batteries.

The GHII isn't wireless, but it's worth it. It's a lot lighter than the Les Paul, the only thing is the notes are raised where the GHIII are almost pushed in a bit. I also use it as the bass guitar whenever I'm playing Rock Band.

GH3 guitar is wireless, black, shiny, and sleek.

It's about 100 times better than the GH2 guitar.

Yeah I'd go with the GH2 guitar, I've played through all of GH2, GH3, and Rock Band with my X-Plorer and it's great. The buttons are nicer and the no batteries/no detacheable neck are good qualities too.

If I ever use One-Way Batteries in a Controller, may the good lord strike me dead! Rechargable Batteries have been invented some time ago... Anyway, thanks for the replies so far. I thought it was wireless, so I just have to think again. A Wired guitar is not really the optimum for a heated Party, especially when playing Sabotage or Hysteria on the Bass and starting to "get into the Mood" :P
