Seeing all the hype around GH1/2......I decided to check out some gameplay videos to see what all the fuss was about. From what I've seen, when playing the game if you miss notes....they still play? I just don't understand why they couldn't make it so *you* were actually playing the notes instead of just trying to match them for points. Meaning if you didn't touch any keys at the notes came up, you wouldn't hear the guitar at all. Did I just watch a bunch of videos on easy difficulty or is that how the game really is? SuperBeast
 The notes do NOT play if you miss them. And if you miss to many you get booed off the stage. I can see how watching the videos you may think that, but you really need to go to a kiosk in Wal-Mart or Best Buy or Circuit City or wherever and play the game. and you can't tell how fun the game is by watching it. I didn't get it either until I played it and I very shortly after bought it.
P.S. I play guitar but the game's a blast anyway.

The videos might not have done it justice. There is a whole band in the song so it sounds better but what they have done is brought the lead guitar (or bass and rhyth if you chose that) to the forefront in the sound. Now if you miss your note then the lead guitar sound is cut out and all you will be hearing is the rest of the band (and if you continue that way boos from the crowd). Its easier if you saw it in person but I hope that helps.
I dont get why people waste $90 bucks on a game when you can save up a little more money and buy an actual guitar. Just my opinion but I think it would be more satisfying really playing those songs.Joelo8112002I agree. IDK why people love this game, I didn't have much fun with it. But different strokes for different folks. The thing that would really put me off is the initial price and the fact that the guitar seems to be faulty. On top of that I keep hearing from fans of the game RedOctane and M$ are gouging the customers for packets of songs for &6.50 a pop. Not cool...

you can say that for many other games, like sports games. and besides, do you know how long you would have to practice to learn the songs that you can play on guitar hero II? a VERY long time. I've only been playing guitar for a few months and i could even touch the songs you can play on GHII. still i respect your opinion, but wholeheartdly disagree with it.

Because I dont have the time and patience to play a real guitar and GH2 is a blast to play. Why do people play shooters, why don't you go buy a real gun and go to a shooting range? Why do people play sports games, just buy a football?

well i own 2 real guitars and im very good at playing them but i still really enjoy the game...obviously as this being a game its supposed to be about having fun. learning to play a real guitar is alot of hard work, where as this you can pick it up in a matter of hours and have a great time...isnt that what gaming is about anyway?

Same here and when you miss notes notes they don't play i know because i just missed a few playing Billion Dollar Babes by Alice in chainsP.S. I play guitar to and for anybody that plays guitar be prepared the controller feels weird as hell after playing on an actual guitar
p.s.s. Ag guitar for a little over $90 will likely be a POS so don't buy it

Uh, the note doesn't play, you actually get the sound of a bad note being played if you hit a wrong note or just silence on the part of the guitar if you do nothing. You may be confusing the guitar parts with some of the bass or rhythm guitar parts or just the other sounds in general.

Its all about fun man, too bad you don't see that. Knowing how to play guitar can be a lot of fun, but to get to the level you need to be in order to be able to play the fun songs on GH1/2 you'd need to practice for hours a day for probably3-4 years. Not only that, but you have to pay for lessons, which aren't cheap, and put up with really bad blisters and calusses (sp?) on your hands, those parts are definitely NOT fun. Guitar Hero is really what video gaming is all about, letting you feel like you are doing something you normally couldn't do. Just like you can't pick up a gun and automatically become a trained Navy seal, you can't just pick up a guitar and already know how to play Sweet Child o' Mine. Get it? No? Oh well.
