GH3 for the epic win

ya id like to play the drum part of rockband just to mix things up wen i dont wanna play guitar. i could just get both of course, rock band for xmas n just buy gh3 with my muny

Wow, didn't realise that people actually WANTED GHIII, rock band is by far the superior game.

What you fail to realise is that you don't NEED to buy all the perephrials, you can buy whatever you want, and use the GHII controllers. It's basically three games in one, guitar/bass, drums, and singing. You can also merge all of them online or locally or a mix of both to start your own band and rock out together. There is no question that Rock Band is the superior game.

Right so after you spend $170 on Rock Band, pouring more money into it is just wonderful. Yeah you don't have to buy all the perephials, but if you don't have a guitar already, you are going to be spending at least $140on one perephial and the game. Even if you already have a guitar, that on its own will not be enough for the game, as the guitar is (rightfully) better in GH3. Rock Band is not built from the ground up for one instrument, and in the process will do none of them completely. This is obviously a split screen game. Yes you can play it over online, but I don't think playing with people over Xbox Live will quite replicate the experience in your own living room. I still plan on playing Rock Band make no mistake, I have the money. But if money was an object, GH3 would definitely come first.

If you buy just one, get GH3 first. It has an established history of gaming sweetness. Rent Rock Band after the holiday, and if you like it, and it has gotten decent reviews, then consider a purchase. That is what I will do.

What kind of idiotic opinion was that? I'm mostly pointing to the fact you are talking about Dragonforce = Not Metal because they play fast? If you're going to talk on Metal like this, read on it first. There is a little something called SPEED Metal...and POWER Metal. Which Dragonforce fits comfortably into.

No you miss the point they are not metal because they play the same guitar scale over and over in everysong, and it bored me half to death until I feel liek clawing my eyes out when I hear the singer he sounds like he should be in a damn emo band.

So, you're trying to tell me a band is not what their Genre is because they play the same Guitar Scale? That makes absolutely, positively, no sense at all.

You have no point. The only thing you're trying to do is bash Dragonforce, which, you are going about doing so the wrong way.

GhIII is has more variety of music and the guitar gameplay looks better ,while Rock band is more like a party game, the guitar campaign looks more repetitive and easier, and the soundtrack is more alternative ( so it can appeal to more people)

I'm getting both, but I'm convinced Rock Band is going to be the better game. Harmonix has had WAY more experience making games like this than any other developer. Let's not forget that Harmonix created Guitar Hero and thus have all that code, along with the Karaoke Revolution code going into Rock Band. And then look into the already announced online plans, I think it'll be hard to beat.

The only things Guitar Hero III has going for it is it's reputation from the past 2 games, brand recognition, and price. But price isn't really legit since you can still buy a Guitar + Rock Band (without mic and drums) for about the same price as GHIII anyways.

I'll probably get GH III first, the track list OWNS Rock Band, by a landslide. The bonus songs look sick, along with the Tier 8 and 9 sets.

But me and a couple of friends are going to get Rock Band, so that I can play guitar and possibly dabble in the drums a little. I doubt I'll bother buying a mic though, unless it's cheaper to buy full set instead of just a guitar and drums, which I doubt.

I play games for fun, and being able to very likely finish all the songs on expert first try is certainly not fun.

Therefore, definitly Guitar Hero 3 for me. Just contrast the confirmed song lists...

Because Rock Band's song list is horrible compared to GH3. Infact it's pretty underwhelming when compared to GH2 & 1.

1) Rock Band For A Day with an X360, 1 controller & 1 Mem. Card for just $60....

Both packages include the Rock Band game plus FOUR* (4) instruments...
