I have been bouncing this idea around for a while now so I wanted to know what you fine folks think. So my idea is obviously called Ghost Achievements and it only affects achievements you already have. So when you start a new game, e.g. in COD 4, and complete an achievement you already have the little achievement thing pops up but with a check or X through it to show you have it, and you get no achievement points. I mean thats the point of achievements to make you feel that you achieved something so why not let us have something each time. What do you guys think about this, all opinions are welcomed.

I've already achieved it, I don't need to know when I do it again.

Can you be more specific, I don't really understand. So what you're saying is you want achievements for nothing. And they don't give you gamerpoints?

I like the idea. It could be a setting in your profile, so you could not have to see it unless you wanted to.

no hes saying that if he achieves the achievement again, he wants that lil thingy to pop up. but you get no points for it. basically he likes the box that pops up when u get an achievement

Not a bad idea. Something else more games should utilize are the "in-game" Achievement counters that can show you your progress towards getting Achievements, a la Gears 2.

I agree with atm. I think the in game progress is a great idea. L4D does that with some achievements as well. And I personally like the topic idea of ghost achievements. It would be interesting to see how many times you'd actually get an achievement during a playthrough.

no, not really. i enjoy hearing the beep when i get a achievement but i think some people wold be like where is the achievement. for people that don't know it would be like getting the sound but not getting the achievement. something like stabbing somebody on cod4, he said if he restarted the game he would want to get it again but not worth the 5 points he would get.

I don't really like it. Once you have an achievement, what's the point for going towards it again when you get nothing out of it?

I don't like it. No point in knowing I got something again that will not benefit me at all. I read the achievement list before playing a game and set out to accomplish them. I could care less if I did it more than once if I get nothing out of it.

I like the sound of it - especially it being an option to either turn it off or on. It would be good with games that gives you achivements for each correct thing you do or progression in the story. Although that wee smile I get when i hear the wee noise would give me a false sense of security. :D Even though I already have it.

I like that idea too, the orange box does it too
