Well this is my first time posting here at gamestop (I know many of you will say this is a big fat lie, but it isnt, im borrowing my brothers account to post this, im too lazy to create one myself) and I have a question I would like you to answer, me and my brother have here in our place a Wii, a ps3 and a high end pc, my brother has a 360 he and his roomates back in college bought, so it stays on their appartment over in berkeley (we are from Texas).

So as you may infer the question is 360 related, my brother always leaves his 360 (for obvious reasons) back on his university appartment in berkeley, so Ive never been able to play halo or gears, so in your honest opinion am I missing out on anything?

What does the 360 offers that neither a wii, ps3 or pc can?

DO you honestly think a "xbox 720" is coming out soon?

In a fewer words, given my situation, would it be convenient for me to get a 360?? or should I just wait till next gen and stick with what I have here?

Thanks alot.

i would say just wait for the next xbox that will be coming around 2010-2015. u have a pc a lot of 360 go on the pc and u have a ps3. i would say wait for a new system to come out. unless u have some money that u can save up for a new 360 for $200.

if i want to get a next xbox then i'm going to wait a couple of years until the price drops for it. this way it will get all of the problems it might have (rrod, e74 error). around 2015 i'm going to be getting one.

No matter the price if your going to use it then its worth the money. If its 10$ but you never use its pointless to get.

Well i dont think an "xbox 720" is coming out soon i think they said the life span of the xbox 360 is gonna be a very long time, so you would be waiting for that future gen console awhile. I say go out and get an xbox there not as expensive as they used to be and paying for the onhline really isnt that big of a deal.

As for missing out on gears or halo i dont know both of those games are very entertaining and i really enjoy the online on both of them I would really recommend trying them. It all depends on how interested you are. Read up on em, read some reviews.

Get the Xbox arcade set its only $200! Then buy the hard drive separate, I think it's cheaper in the end? You're missing out on some pretty good games on the Xbox. PS3 does have some great titles too though, all depends on how much you enjoy your gaming.

High-end PC = no need for an Xbox

There is, of course, the XBLA and the achievements system, both are awesome and if you have disposable money might be worth it.

It really depends if you have the money to spare or not. Is it needed? With what you already have you aren't missing out on too much. There are a few titles that you won't be able to play, but it's up to you to decide if those few are worth purchasing a console for.

With your other 3 mediums, you can play nearly everything.

There won't be a new 360 coming anytime soon. XBOX360 will be domjinating game sales for a long time, while PS3 will be still trying to get off the ground. No offense to PS3, that's just how it is. I recommend the new Elite bundle to you. It will come with -3 months of prepaid XBL -Fable 2 -Halo3. Now if you wouldn't want Fable, maybe that's a little different and maybe go pro. 360 is the leader of online play and the best gaming machine currently available, with the most games available. They have the XBLA which has tons of great classic arcade and console games, and come out with more every week. I'd say go for it! You will quickly see all that you've been missing. They also have many more great exclusives on the way. The XBOX 360 will be the leading console for years, There will be no 720 coming out anytime soon, you don't need to worry about that. Good luck with making your decision.

Got money to burn? Then get one. The exclussives are the X360's strong point. LIVE rocks, and achievements can get a whole bunch of replay value out of games.(sometimes)

If not, dont worry about it mate. You have pretty much all the bases covered anyway. A lot of the exclussives from Microsoft end up on PC anyway. A high end PC craps all over the X360 also if your just talking power.

Personally, Gears of War (1 & 2)is one of my all time favourites. My friend even traded his PS3 in for an X360 to play it. Well, that and like me he couldnt stand the controller on the PS3. But thats just me.

It's not too late to get a 360. There hasn't been any official announcements on a new console, only speculation that a new system is on the horizon. If there's a few games you think you'd want to play that you can't on any other platform that the $200 price tag is well worth it and you could probably get a few deals on some games if you search for them online.

If you'd like to compare consoles, please use the System Wars forum. Thanks!
