Hey guys ! and maybe some girls, that I doubt will be here :D

Anyway I didn't have any xbox consoles for some time now, mainly after my second one died and I think it was the 60GB model one...

I really loved xbox just didn't feel to buy a new one every 2 years.

Now some time have passed, a lot of games piled up that I wish to play like : GeOW 2/3, Witcher 2, Fable 2/3, Crackdown2 and Halo !

Those are just some from the top of my head, now I;ve been using PS3 and it's all fine and cool, but still miss the good old xbox days (loved the controller and the Xbox dashboard or what you call it now)

Could care less for paying for the xbox live...

And I've heard that the red light of doom is not so much of an issues any more (still happens but less)

Anyway I wanted to know what you think if it's a goode idea to buy the xbox 360S 250GB + Witcher 2 bundle or you would wait for the new one to be released ?

Thx for the help and sorry for the lond a** post....

Fable III isn't that good of a game, but personal preference, I guess.

I am using a Slim 250 GB right now alongside my PC. and I think it's worth it to just go with that for now. The next Xbox could take a while to release. Plus, there are lots of rumors circulating about no-used games and online only for the next Xbox, and even if they may not be true, I wouldn't take my chances.

It would be foolish to purchase a current gen Xbox 360 right now. The new Xbox will be out before the end of the year, why not wait a couple of months? I'm sure you'll be able to play whatever 360 game you want on your new Xbox anyway.

I just doubt it will take a couple of months.... More like 8-10, can't really say if I'll manage to wait that long

I agree with this. There probably won't be any "must haves" when the new console launches, but there probably will be soon after. Why not just wait for a the new console and use it to play old games at first? That way when you pick it up at launch you won't feel like you wasted your money.

I can't think of ANY reason to buy a new console at this point, with the next gen so close. Be patient. Do you not have any games on other consoles to keep you busy?

And yet the 360 isn't completely backward compatible with a lot of original xbox games. I wouldn't wait. At least with a shiny new S, the chances of the Slimline 360 breaking down are, well, slim. If you get a 720, you don't know how long that one with last until it crooks. Then you can play your much more reliable system while you wait until the next day to get the 720 replaced, and yes. I'm being serious. The 360 does have quite a back catalog of games.

There is still some time, but I guess I will go for the 360S, I forgot to mention I have a kid and there's no telling how much I will be able to play in 10m lol :D So better to take my chances now . Thx again for the help guys !

If money is an issue and you want the next gen Xbox regardless, it may be a good idea to wait and see if the next one will be backwards compatible. Otherwise I think that is a good enough game list to go for it. Witcher 2 is much better on PC though imo. I loved Halo 4 and the Gears series is an absolute blast with friends!! Have fun gaming whatever you choose!

This. Also I never understand why people ask a question, and then make it clear that they already knew what they were going to do regardless of everyone's advice. Asking if you should get a 360 or wait and then later saying "oh btw I have a kid so I think I'm gonna get this one while I still have time to play" doesn't make sense to me. But whatever, do what makes you happy.

The xbox slim consoles are currently so cheap it would be worth getting one now, catching up on missed gaming and get the new console on release, still be quids in with all the gaming you will be catching up on.

Hey I'm just human :D It's like a therapy.... All the therapist does is just asks questions and you find the answer yourself :) That's why the forum is here to ask and make a decision :p

It's pure idiocy to go for the Xbox 360 now

There's nothing worthwhile coming soon, there's E3 a couple of months away where it's going to get another price cut and the new console will be released. Once that happens a few months more and the new console will be here.

Anyone even debating getting a 360 at this point shouldn't be in the position to make purchases.
