I already have a ps3 but am getting a 360 to complete my collection :) . I saw that most stores now offer the pro package for $350 with Forza 2 and Marvel Alliance and was wondering if that is just temporary or if it's kinda like a permanent deal? It works out better for me since Forza would've been the first game I would've bought if it didn't come with it. And now i hear that MS fixed the current gens of 360s and now they don't have malfunctions or many malfunctions now, is this correct? I don't know if I should get the extended warranty when I get one. Thanks in advance.

i think its a holyday bundle with marvel alliance, so probably will not last, though im not sure on that one as for problems, i think you should be with the new hardware, meaning less problems

my local futureshop is doing that bundle of forze2 and marvel, but it also comes with guitar hero 2.. look around, see if that deal isavailable toyou.
Buy an extended warranty through a retailer such as Best Buy if you want same day service. You walk in, get a new 360 once yours breaks...end of discussion.
However Microsoft's plan is crap. 4 - 6 weeks for a refurb console.
Now since you have a PS3 like me you probably won't mind the wait. :P
Get the extended warranty. It is worth the peace of mind. Speaking from experience. My first 360 got 3 Red Lights of Death. I didn't have extended warranty. Then Microsoft extended warranty to one year, and I exchanged my 360 after not playing it for 4 months. Got an extended warranty with second 360. Second 360 is broke now, with E74 error. Sending it to Microsoft as soon as I get the shipping box. Sam's Club extended 3 year kicks in after Microsoft's one year.
i have had my 360 for 11 months now no problems. The bundle is permanent as far as i know. The only reason you want a warranty is if you want your 360 fixed RIGHT NOW because thats what store warranties do they give you a new one. The three year Microsoft warranty will cover RROD only and they wont give you a new one.

Couldn't have said it better. This bundle is the reason I returned my Halo 3 Special Edition console, and according the website the estimated date is Oct 26.

RROD Red ring of death... 360 consoles have had a 30% failure rate. MS has extended the warranty from 1 year to 3 year and it is costing them 1 billion dollars. If you get it you will be without your console for a month while they fix it. Only certain Halo 3 ones have the new heatsink and chips you need to check the manufacter date and also its build line as they where all switched over on diffrent dates in the transition. (its all in the thread..If you don't want to read get a Elite with the newest build date they where swithced over first.
