After being so anti-Xbox in the last gen I have come to really want a 360. For one the PS3 is just too expensive for me though I think it has the potential to be a great system. I own a Wii but the games are few and far between. So I have decided that I will get a 360 to go along with my Wii. I will be getting the premium 360 and what I was really wondering where what games should I consider buying. I think that Gears of War is a must even though I am not great at FPS games (haven't really gave them a shot though). I like action games and sports as well. I was going through some mags and saw these that caught my attention: Gears of War, Lost Planet, Elder Scrolls 4, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Dead Rising, Prey. Anything else really good that is out there that you can recommend?

Gears of war is a third-person shooter. All of the games you mentioned are good except for Lost Planet...

Thanks for the advice everyone. Gonna get Gears of War for sure. It just looks insane. Same for Dead Rising. Any good hockey or baseball games out for it?

I disagree with Aussie.  Lost Planet is great, though a bit short and maybe not worth $60.  It is gorgeous though.  I thought Prey was an excellent single player game.  The presentation is great.  Plus, you can find it for around $20 US at some places.

How about Halo 2 for the XBOX and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2?? They are both compatible with the 360 right? I want to play Halo so I can be ready when Halo 3 comes out and I heard KotOR was killer.

Gears, Dead rising, oblivion are a great bet.

As for hockey, both nhl 07 and nhl 2k7 were both good this year. 2k Focused more on the presentastion, and 07 focused a bit more on the gameplay. Either bet you cant go wrong.

Baseball, well, theres MLB 2K6, but to be honest, it wasnt that great. Sort of a "first try" at baseball on 360. I would probably just wait till march 5th, when 2k7  comes out, and see if that is any better.
