My TV doesn't support 60hz very well and when it does go on to 60hz mode the colours smudge slightly and he picture isn't as good as it is on 50hz. I now use the advanced scart cable and now i have it connected to my speakers so the sound is really good, but the 60hz mode is still the same. However, last night i found that my TV had a s-video socket and when i use that socket instead of the scart the 60hz is perfect. But, when i use the s-video socket the wire isn't long enough to have my speakers connected as well. So should i keep my speakers in use and have a bad 60hz picture, have a good 60hz picture for my 3 60hz games but have bad sound (through TV) or should i just save up for a HDTV?

Stereo phono I think. It's probably best to have a clearer picture to avoid excess eye strain. You hooked your system/TV to your hifi?

They're called RCA or stereo phono and you can get a female-male connector rca extension cable on the net (probably amazon)

Should cost you about $2-$5 dollars on amazon

If you have no spare cash get the extension cable - problem solved. However, if you do have some spare cash then deffo get yourself an HDTV. so much better for 360 gaming.
