Halo 3 is a good choice. Arguably one of the best co-op experiences you can have on the Xbox 360. Two player co-op splitscreen and four player co-op online.

Why would he be the worst parent ever if he is allowing his son to play gears(assuming hes young), that would be the coolest parent ever. And BTW what better way to spend time with a parent with a 360:D This guy is a great example or parenting;)
