I would say for horror games it would be the Silent Hill games both Fear games 1&2 and there was a few RE games that were good horror but lets not forget Deadspace either that's a good one to play, it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up more than once. I wish they would make some more good horror games.
Clive Barker's Undying, resident evil 2, Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth, Dead Space, Bioshock, Siren, Silent hill 3, Condemned, And Vampire the masquerade Bloodlines.
Dead Space hands down is the best horror game of this generation. RE 5 was NOT scary at all, it was an action game with zombie looking enemies. Silent Hill i havent played much of but it has really great atmosphere and the enemies are all really creative and creepy.. ignore the low review scores because every reviewer compares Silent Hill homecoming to the previous SH games on the ps2 which were made by a different company and just different games altogether. Lastly Fear 1 and 2 are ok horror games but they're much more FPS based than horror based games. Fear 1 will scare the **** out of you for the first hour of gameplay and then stop.. Fear 2 is more consistent with the scares but they're kinda generic scares and really easy to miss.. example: you'll walk down a hall and turn to the right but something scary happened on the left and you missed it.
Absolutely get Dead Space and if you have spare cash think about picking up Silent Hill
Fear 2... Some pretty good scary moments... I especially hated walking down a hallway, with lights flashing behind me... and out of nowhere during one of the flashes, a little girl's shadow runs behind me... so I get freaked and turn around... no one there... so I turn back around and SHE IS STANDING IN FRONT OF ME!... it gets pretty intense...
ive played ever horror game i could get my hands on for the 360 and non of them really gave me that good scare vibe
id recommend trying another console if a scares what u want
on the "scare-o-meter" id rank
silent hill 5 a 1, fear 2 is a 6, dead space is a 4, and thats all i can really think of
not many horror titles on the 360
Fatal Frame was pretty scary to me, but the most scared and "on edge" I've ever felt while playing a game was Condemned. I can only play that game for about an hour before switching to something else.
I have Condemned 2, but I haven't even put it in. I also have Dead Space, and that game is pretty scary too. The Resident Evil remake for the gamecube made me jump quite a few times also. Only had Fear on my PC, and that made me jump a lot for the little bit I played it, and the Fear 2 demo on the 360 even had me freaked out while walking through that school. I may rent that one soon.
