For the later rounds, the shields will save your life as it stops the big guys from getting in, but you have to watch out because the drones, spires and some others can knock them over, so get a few shields to be safe and keep your eye on them. Caddy06_88
Turn the shields backwards and they won't knock them over.

Nice. I didn't know about that. Pretty handy little tip if that works :)[QUOTE="Caddy06_88"]For the later rounds, the shields will save your life as it stops the big guys from getting in, but you have to watch out because the drones, spires and some others can knock them over, so get a few shields to be safe and keep your eye on them. mjpatrick

I didnt know that either, nice one :D But if you turn the sheild backwards when you place it down wont that mean you will be on the wrong side of were your trying to baracade yourself into? :?Blood Rain - In the hallway 1/2 way down the stairs from where you first start, double backward shield both entrances with with 3 players inside should get you a long way.
It's almost like shooting fish in a barrel.

The 'kick-down' icon will not appear on the inside of the shield, only the 'pick-up' icon. The Locust never pick them up, they just get stuck. Only down side is, you cant use them as cover, because you will be facing the outside, 'kick-down' side of the shield.
Anyway, there are good spots on just about all the maps if you know how to use the shields, have different guys playing their part. A few obvious ones are...
HAIL - on top of the bridge/walkway where the grenades spawn. Grenade up the walls, snipe down near the train cars, ammo is down there also.
PAVILION - Top middle. There is a room there that has only one entrance & the shield spawns from. I have gotten to 50 (on casual) with just one other mate.
JACINTO - Near where the grenades spawn. The lower stairs are one-way so you cannot be flanked.
Security - Well its obvious but staying inside those lasers are great and especially because grenades spawn outside of it from the left and right. The mortar and heavy machine gun in there are especially handy.
Jacinto - Well up on the top balcony areas are certainly good spots because theres only one entrance in there so you can plant grenades all up the sides or on the sand bags. When things get tough the shields are good for this spot and if all goes wrong theres an only exit way out that runs you straight into the courtyard(near the boomshot/hammer of dawn).
River - Pretty much what was mentioned before i always use the mortar in this level as you can usually always see your enemies on the long stretch(although sometimes they spawn at the trucks)so get someone good on the mortar and take base around one of the houses.
Day One - Well what was mentioned before and thats it although theres that really good spot where the sniper/torque bow spawns. You jump over the railing right there and theres some well placed cover there.
Hail - The middle is a great spot where the boomshot spawns inside the cover, and you can make a nice area up the stairs where the grenades spawn. You can plant the grenades around and make a barricade from where they come in the house(if that made sense).
Well it may be basic but these are just some tips i'm throwing out from the top of my head.
The best place we found was on the River map. When things get a little crazy, just barricade yourselves in one of the houses, plant some granades outside, and put some shields on the stairs to stop them getting upstairs if tbey get through the door.DAAVV-OYup this works a treat, got to level 50 in no time, all stay in the building until a "shield guy" comes in, then barricade the stairs, then all shotgun people when they come in from ALL angles since the stairs go round, also one peron can use the torque bow or sniper for enemies far away. I think this is the best way
[QUOTE="Scott_Malkinson"]Horde? I've never played GOW2, but isn't Horde from He-Man? GOW2 stole that name!John42391A no, horde is a standard word in the english language, open a dictionary. I stand corrected.
