If your cords are not plugged in all the way
It shows red rings
Its not a hardware failure
Its just telling you that your cords are not in
When I was just hooking up my 360 at my dorm room today, I turned it on and it showed the RROD. Two important things were different from a real Mesquite-bound RROD. First, the 360 didn't actually turn on, as it was emitting no sound from its motors. Second, the RROD displayed almost immediately after I powered it on; if it was a real RROD it would take about 5 seconds or so to show it. Works fine now with the power cord inserted all the way.NicAgentYou can also get a false RROD if your power flickers out like it might during a thunderstorm.
