I played a couple levels on veteran in MW2 and it wasn't all that hard once you get the feel of it... I'm still afraid of trying to go through the favella on veteran though :P
If anybody says GOW2's solo campaign on insane was'nt harder is lying lol, its almost impossible to beat Gears Of War 2's campaign on insane without dying a lot. I completed MW2's campaign on veteran and I only died on the 7th mission, one playthrough.
I never played CoD MW2 but CoD 4 Veteran was pretty frustrating.Gears of War 2 insane wasn't hard for me at all.I beat it solo twice and i did it again in co-op with my little brother in splitscreen.
I haven't played MW2 yet but I know WaW Veteran is extremely fustrating with the grenade rain, so annoying. And Gears on Insane is a little less annoying because you can get real cover and do things like blind fire, but still annoying.
I thought Insane on Gears 2 was waaaay harder than Veteran on MW2. on Veteran on CoD4, that was rough.hammerofcrom
I'm still working on the MW2 Veteran " Took time off for Assassins Creed 2 " and I would have to agree. From what I've seen, MW2 veteran is extremely easy when compared to the Cod 2 and 4 Veteran campaign. However, Gears 2 on insane felt just right to me. Their play styles are different though so I can't really place them on the same level of difficulty. :)
I've beat GOW2 (and GOW1) many times on insane while playing solo. It's not very hard at all, just takes some patience and determination. I just bought MW2 (on the PS3), and personally feel that it's much harder, and I've only been playing on normal. In saying that, I only played the first MW for a few minutes, so maybe I just need time to get use to the games. But, for now, it's my opinion that Modern Warfare 2 is much more difficult than Gears of War 2.
I beat Gears 1 twice on insane and Gears 2 zero. I thought Gears 2 was pretty difficult on insane. That is why I gave up. I beat MW2 on veteran last weekend and it was pretty easy.
Modern Warfare 2 on Veteran is by far tougher than Gears 2 on Insane, for the simple fact that it's a much more realistic game. In GoW2, it takes about 5 decent shots from a shotgun to down someone, in MW2, if you take a couple bullets on Veteran you're done.

If you get shot by a shotty in gears 2.. It takes 5 shots? :\Well, unless you're shooting from point-blank range. Three is more of an accurate number too. I kind of over-exagerated.
GOW2 insane is def harder than MW2 insane i mean in MW2 you can really just let the computers do all the work and no enemy respawns really just makes it a waiting game.

GoW2 on Insane is hard because of how buggy it is and enemy AI pulling some BS on you.
Of the last three CoD game son the 360 from hardest to easiest:
CoD WaW (still have yet to complete it)
CoD4 (Act 3 is tough. Epilogue was tough but not hardest part of the game)
CoD MW2 (No respawing enemies/ grenade spam = super easy. Some parts do get a bit frustrating but overall easy. Spec. Ops can be tough on some missions but for the most part is pretty simple as well).
Let me put it this way, in MW2 on veteran I don't even have fun because I just auto-aim fire and hide in cover and wait for teammates to save my ass. In GoW 2 insane I can blast at enemies all I want, because of the cover-system and not die, and have fun. So I'd pick MW2.
Gears 2 on Insane is harder. Although the campaign on MW2 was pretty easy on Veteran some of those spec-ops missions are just down right brutal on Veteran, like the one where you need to kill 10 juggernauts with just explosives and your knife.
Gow 2 insane was easier then Gow 1 hard mode... So it was Piece o'cake
Cod5 vet was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard!!! Mw2 was uber easy...

I totally agree with you except for GoW2 on insane. I beat the first one on insane by myself and couldn't bring myself to play 2 on insane. Just too damned much work. CoD5 on vet makes me want to spit on my game, though somehow I got through it. Hard isn't the word, more like uber cheese. I wouldn't say MW2 was a cake walk, there were maybe 2 tricky boards on it. I died in the mission called "The Enemy of My Enemy" a little bit. But I have to saw MW2 has to be easier than Gears 2.
I only got about halfway through GoW insane but that was out of just wanting to play something else than it was difficulty. Still, it was harder than MW2 veteran. I have only played CoD4 and MW2 on veteran, and I thought MW2 veteran didn't really come close to CoD4 veteran when it came to difficulty.
I haven't played MW2 yet, but I was able to beat the GoW and GoW2 on insane (Raam is a f*ing controller breaker) and I wasn't able to beat the first MW on Vet, just hard. But like I said, I haven't played MW2, so I don't really know if it is around the same difficulty as the first one.

Wow, World at War was a pain with that grenade spam. "Heart of the Reich" is probably the hardest mission in the game. On topic. I haven't played MW2 yet, so can't really say yet which is harder.
I haven't started the MW2 campaign on Veteran yet, but if Spec Ops and CoD 4's veteran campaign are any indication, I think MW2 on Veteran is harder. GoW 2 on Insane just wasn't all that difficult (while playing co-op anyway).
Gears 2 on insane and Modern Warfare 2 on veteran were both pretty easy. Gears 1 was BRUTAL and Gears 2 wasn't nearly as bad. then again, when I was doing Gears 2 on insane I was playing it NON STOP. I was expecting Modern Warfare 2 to be a lot harder than what it was...
Veteran mode is harder, for Gears you can stick behind cover which is pretty much 90% safe. However is COD, no sticking to cover and bullets always fly everywhere.
Im doing my playthrough on MW2 on veteran atm, and im finding it pretty hard (i didnt play COD4) so far im findin it harder than gears (im in the favela's), but thats probably because i was awesome at gears and suck on cod lol
