Seriously this games sucks online, crappy matchmaking, only game that gets you in fast is wing man. Dont even get me started on that BS chainsaw, running through 2 shotty blasts and chainsawing you? That balance Epic? Released a patch which was even buggier than the game on release. Shield glitch, run glitch so damn many. And no it aint mny connection you gotta give a better explanation than that fanboys. Seriously Epic pull your crap together, such an awesome premise yet you cant even after months balance a simple chainsaw.....
That's why I didn't buy it actually. I own the first one and let me say, the storymode is certainly lacking. While the second one has a better story I imagine, I just don't much care for the story because of the first one and multiplayer would be the reason for me to buy that game and they messed up on it royally.

Yes and Lost odyssey had tons of false complaints that the user community easily disproved.. Not really hard to pay attention to what users say about the game.As they usually explain the problems very well as long as you know some intelligent people.
Gears 2 does have a broken multiplayer. Last night while I was playing Guardian on Gridlock someone on my team shot one of the other team players directly in the back with a boomshot, guess what happened. It did not explode the player he kept on running like nothing happened. Many times I encounter another player with my chainsaw ready to cut someone in half they throw an elbow at me making me stunned (two peice) then they blow me in half with a shotgun. I can go on and on with my experience with the Gears 2 multiplayer.

agreed, works fine for me. Matchmaking should be fixed, but glitch wise, its fine. If you are shooting the guy twice with a shotgun, he is either dead, or you missed and learn to play better.
I haven't experienced any of these problems I've found that with skill its getting easier to kill people and I've only had it 2 days. I did have to open some ports because I got disconnected a few time but since then smooth sailing. Anyone that says the MP is buggy is prob a lousy shot.
you guys do not know what you are talking about. on thursday they said that they fixed their matchimaking system or something that will make the update we got a couple of weeks ago actually work. and since thurs. i have played like 20 matches and haven't had to wait more than 30 seconds.
Shield glitch and the invisible glitch are the most annoying. But waiting for matches, that doesn't bother me, I'm patient. I personally won't be purchasing the next game they release. They should've had these issues sorted out before release.

I agree with you. They totally messed up Gears2 online. It needs to be speeded up a bit, its too slow, the matchmaking is a joke, and I dont care what anyone says the shotgun is useless now and shotty fights in the first one was one of the best things about it! The shotgun isn't even close to useless... It's still one of the best weapons. The only thing that needs to be done to the chainsaw is make it a little easier to stun.

Bummer for you but I've had some great matches online, however I wish it was faster to connect to a match on live like Halo but I havent experienced any glitches in game.

But whatever you do, please, please, pleeeeaaase stop crying about Gears of War 2. Seriously there are like ten other games out right now worth your money, why don't you spend your time playing them instead of whining about stuff we all already know and have heard 500 times before.
It's not JUST long matchmaking. It was said in the opening post that the game is also unbalanced, which it is, and everyone is always chainsawing. Everyone. Even the bots, which just really pissed me off.

At least with Gears you have to go all the out to the dashboard instead of just pausing and selecting "quit match". And if you don't like being chainsawed, don't let them get close to you OR use the saw yourself. And LMAO at the comment about you pointing out these problems because that's the only way they will be fixed. How noble. If you want Epic to listen, why don't you email them or post on THEIR forums instead of subjecting us to your whine-fest. It must be the match type b/c I gave online another try last night and waited 3-4 mins to find a players choice game.
My biggest beef with online and again, this is only MY opinion but I think its stupid I played for over an hour and only 2 guns were used the whole time, shotty and chainsaw. I don't see the fun in that, tuck role at a person then either use shotty or chainsaw. It makes me appreciate games like COD and Halo that actually let you shoot another person from a distance and where you see mulitple guns being used.
I would enjoy the online better if you didn't start with a shotty and there were only 1 or 2 on the map and the chainsaw was nerfed a bit or you could block a chainsaw move with any gun kinda like the duel scenario to give a person a chance to fight back.
