GP says MGS4 to 360

So I know gamepro.com isnt great and there may have been a thread about this before but they reported a "solid" rumor that MGS will be ported to the 360 in 2009. I went back 5 pages and didnt see a topic so I figured I should put this out there. He's the address,i think the link will work

Well you might want to read this then. This is why I'm PS360. Keep in mind, this is a rumor too. But I see this one as a little more believable.

I think Konami did the right thing here, they're not sure if they're going to make a profit if they go PS3 alone.ratchet3

If any of this is true... Sony is probably begging Konami to reconsider... because I know several friends who have told me that if MGS4 was good, they would buy a PS3 to play it... so this game could be the selling point of the PS3...

I could have sworn though that there was an official press release from Konami saying that they had though about the Multi-Console release and decided on PS3 exclusive...? I can't remember where I saw it though... :(

That was a rumor in PSNUK three and a half years ago with no citation from official sources... The first information at all for GTA4 was from Xbox360's Peter Moore at E3 2006 4 months before the PS3 was on retail shelves...

OK, I think you forgot maybe when Moore showed his either right or left arm and had a GTA 4 logo on it?

I don't get why everyone gets so excited about this. These rumors keep popping up and getting shot down, just to resurface again later. No one knows whether it's coming for sure, and I'm not going to get my hopes up until there's an official announcement.

i see it as being possible konami actually wants to make money for making one of the greatest games of all tme and thats just wont happen if its only on the ps3Gen007

Yeah people forget that the game developers aren't making games for us to have something to do... they are making games to make money... the better the game and the wider the audience... the more money... to turn the 360 away is like throwing money away...

BTW: doesnt MGS4 take up most of the 50gb on the blu ray disk??

if it really takes up that much space then theres a whole bunch of crap on that disc that could be took out to make it fit on dvd and it dosent matter if it did take 3 dvds because MGS is the type of game that would work fine with disc swicthing. Blue dragon does and you can revisit parts of the world youve already been to on disc 1

Crysis was a 15 hour long game with an entire fully mapped and scaled island to explore with life like visuals and physics along with fully destructable environments... it was only 6GB... a BDisk is 45GB and there is no way that one game would take up that much space... I mean the matrix online had an entire city where you could enter every single building and that game was only 4GB...

If this game takes up 45GB then the Konami are horrible programmers to use so much coding in a Third Person Shooter for a console...

omg your like my best freind now your the only person ive met on gamespot that dosent belive in MGS taking up a 50 gig blu ray i mean come on you have to be a sucker to think its true there have been 200 hour long games that dont even break 10 gigs hell not even 5

It depends on who has the most money... Konami are a business... they are making games for money... if Microsoft pays more or if they will make substantially more money from both systems... they will do what is best for their company... they don't care if sony gets mad... MGS is one of sony's highest selling franchises... it's not like they are going to not support MGS4 on PS3 in retaliation... If konami wants to go in that direction... sony simply has to bend over and take it like a man...

Yeah thats what it was like for Haze... that game was supposed to be all PS3... completely exclusive and that was the news for months... then one day we get on the internet and the publisher of the game announces a 360 and PC port... It is up to the publisher and what they think will benifit them the most... not the Consol maker...

Yes you're right, it is about who has the most money, so if Microsoft wanted MGS4 on the Xbox, and were willing to pay through the nose for it, they would have bought the rights to the ip and made it a 360 exclusive.

Haze still a PS3 exclusive though, they cancelled the the xbox and PC port to focus on the PS3 version.

Most of that space is just used up by the same textures put on mulitable times to prevent loading times/lag beacuse of bluerays slow speed. Then there's CGI......(why not just render it in-game)

It could fit on 1 or 2 discs easy.

Resistance took up so much space b/c it used 7.1 LPCM Audio.... MGS4 does too.
