I would say gears 2. The first gears is a great game. I don't know why you don't like it. Maybe because your not good at it? Do you quit in gears ranked matches? just wondering. Gears 2 and gta 4 are different type of games and I'm getting both special editon of gta and the collectors of gears 2. They both rock but gears 2 all the way.
I had to go with Gears2, because Gears1 was the Sole reason i bought the 360 when i did, and i loved it and still loved it to this day and if what Cliffy B said is true, that Gears1 was just a taster or prologue for whats to come in Gears2, the game will be the best game the 360 has ever seen.
As for GTA4 I'm still not convinced it would even be worth renting, i loved GTA3 but since then they have gone way down hill, maybe this one will break the tradition and be as good as the 3rd or even better but I'm not holding my breath.
I bought Gears but have only played it for like an hour or two. I have to admit, it hasn't made a very good first impression on me. I just find myself not having much fun with it. Hopefully I'll grow to like it once I play it some more.
Gears of War 2 the first one is my favorite game of all time so im greatly looking forward to the second one although I dont like the GTA series so that kind of contributes.

I quit because it got boring real quick and because host had a huge advantage in the game. Also it wasnt even that great of an online game if you take out the great graphics. It would seem like a lame add on with not much done with it.
they will both be instant hits for there catergory and ill love to pick both but ill go with Gears 2 my reason being gears has online and can play with friends and yeah but cant tell rite now havnt play both cant talk it up.
