I got an Elite about 2 or 3 months ago. It WORKS ok, but I'm starting to worry about its performance with loading up graphics. Recently after about 60 mins of playing GOW, a cinematic came up and the game started acting like one of its processors was ripped out. The frame rate took a major hit, almost to where stuff was jsut being discarded so the game could keep up. Also, I've noticed that it takes a few seconds for some high res graphics to come up, like draw-in issues. Honestly I'm not sure if they've gotten worse lately as opposed to when I first got the 360, but its not just with GOW. I experience the same stuff with Bioshock, where stuff takes a little while to draw in sometimes. Is my 360 starting a path down a slow death, or is this "common" with 360s and I shouldn't be too worried? I don't want my HAlo 3 experience to be diminished with the game constantly having to "catch up" with whats going on. Anyone else experience this? AsI said I haven't had my Elite for a long time.

happens to me a lot when i play gears of war or rainbow six vegas on multiplayer , but bioshock demo no .

ok GOW uses unreal engine 3 and bioshock is the same and r6v is the same too , it only happens with unreal engine 3 games , maybe its the engine issue? because it was on its early stages?

Maybe it is an engine thing.. because basically these are my games for the 360: GOW, Bioshock, Lego Star Wars, Perfect Dark Zero, and GH II. Of those, only the first two really "push" the 360 in terms of graphics and draw-in, so i guess that would make sense, but you'd figure maybe they'd get that engine down a little better before releasing like that. Of course, maybe its more of a DVD-Rom issue, where the data can't be loaded in fast enough or something.

happens on almost all unreal engine 3 games. Its how the engine works, it loads a low res texture or something then the high one to get better peformence. im not 100% sure I just remember little from the tech demo :S

I wonder though if there can be issues if your machine has some loading issues.. I mean it may go and go from low res to high res as you approach stuff, but I wonder if it runs into issues with non-pristine 360's. I mean that GOW issue I had wiht the cutscenes came up after using my 360 for quite a while (hey, when you try to get the "Domination" achievement with a noob, you need some patience), so I wonder how the engine reacts to not having peak performance.
