i was thinking that yesterday while i was playing mass effect. i thought: wow, these games i played in the last year look amazing.:
Mass Effect, Bioshock, CoD4, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Gears of War, Halo3, Ratched, etc... and it will only get better.
Finally graphics are at a point where they are really starting to get immersive and believable.
I just wish the graphics were consistant in Mass Effect. It didnt take away from the game play, but it did pull me out of the moment.Rokudan96
true. it's a flawed game, but great nontheless.

Yea, my 360 sounds like it's gonna give up any minute when I throw Mass Effect in. The textures load really slowly in comparison to how they should, as well. I also have pretty bad frame rate issues.

Do you have a High-Def TV? I'm assuming you do... you should play Assassin's Creed. Some of the best graphics I've ever seen, especially if you've got a high-end TV. Just breathtaking.

Very true. The game is just so amazingly detailed and looks gorgeous in 1080p.

It also runs incredibly smoothly, unlike Mass Effect it would seem... though I have never had any problems with it. I did read that it doesn't cache any data (why you don't need a hard drive to play it), which explains why the disc spins furiously :)
The graphics on the xbox 360 have come a long way. There are scenes in COD4 that look like a major motion picture. It just makes gaming that much better. Can not wait for 2008.FlashCharge
but it is 2008.................

QFT. Everyone, remember Kameo, and Condemned... when we thought those had good graphics? XD
Just a note to how fast our habits have been changing : half-life came out 9 years ago (1998), and had revoloutionary graphics. DN 3D came out in 1996, and FF7 came out in 1997. Yeah... lots of change in those times too. I hope 2008 won't disappoint, even with what we thought was hardware limitation. Doom came out in 1993. Also, Super Mario 64 in 1996. I can't mention every single game, but I hope technology changes as quickly as it did back then.
I know these graphics have surpassed what you expected in 2005, or 1997. ;)
