To those of you who played both are they pretty much the same as in game play?
Reason for asking is I rented GRAW2 and I loved it, played it non stop for 4 days. Had to return it. Went to the local game store and they have the first one on-sale for 20 bucks. I have never played the first one, I played the demo and it seems a lot like the second one. Just wondering what you guys think.
They are not almost the same.. I have both and the second one is much better IMO. They cleaned up all the little problems that the first one had. The graphics in the multi player are even much better. This one even has full clan support.
I would say if you have never played the first one then it is worth getting if you like single player campaigns. If your only in it for the MP then probably not worth it as GRAW2 does a superior job on this front. The visuals are polished as is the AI but I personally like some of the features of GRAW better than GRAW2. Despite the differences they are both excellent games. The single player of GRAW is by far more challenging than GRAW2. Elevated risk in GRAW2 is a joke. But hard on GRAW is a challenge.  Â
GRAW2 is better is just about every way. Every issue I had with GRAW has been addressed and improved in GRAW2. I really didn't like the first game's mutliplayer either, and I love the multiplayer in GRAW2, theres just something about it thats so much more enjoyable. I remember from reading developer interviews that GRAW2 is pretty much what they wanted to include in GRAW but couldn't due to costs/development time. With that being said, it really doesn't make sense to get the first one. Go with GRAW2.

Agreed. Multiplayer rocks in both but GRAW 2 is definitely better. I think you should still try GRAW to catch up on the story and respect what the second one offers compared to the original but for now I'd say just get GRAW 2.
How's the co-op play in GRAW1 and 2? My friend recently got X360 with GeOW and we been playing campaign co-op online and having a blast doing so. Me and my friend are thinking about picking up GRAW1 or 2 for the co-op. I played GRAW 1 demo and I think its a great game.

The gameplay is very similar, as for the graphics, GRAW 2 is better. Though, I LOVED the maps for the original GRAW, and even though the maps for GRAW 2 are good, i dont think there is any comparrison. I actually am a big fan of both, GRAW was my favorite game and I was in the #1 fall '06 Siege clan on gamebattles ESY Company. GRAW 2 has more weopons and a better campaign though. Overall I liked the original GRAW better, but GRAW 2 is definitely hot right now.

actually its not really a dumb question, I think ur the retarded one for posting what you wrote. Think before u say something, cause u sound pretty stupid. Yes, it makes sence to get the new one because basically no one plays the old GRAW anymore, but the original GRAW is actually the better one. In my opinion, and apparently Gamespots too from what I read of the review.
as far as Co-op goes, GRAW 2s Co-op is better cause the computers AI is fixed (if u played the original GRAWs co-op u know what I mean.) The reason why I like the GRAW 2 campaign better is because its a bit easier. It took me a while to beat the campaign on hard, and it was very frusterating. The GRAW 2 campaign is fairly long too, and they made it a little easier.
i own both and to be honest after about 20 mins of both there not much fun, and the online for GRAW2 is better then GRAW1, but still overall isnt all that good compared to most games.
Definetly pick up the first one as well. Gameplay is pretty similar. The only difference I noticed was that to me, the second one was a lot easier than the first one (on the hardest difficulty).
