the new consoles should just run on sd cards. imagine it. as time progresses the memory will only increase. then they would never have issues with space, simply because as the games get bigger so do the memory units. publishers could release small games like nba on 20 gb memory card. and games like gta and skyrim would come on 60 gb memory cards. this would also settle the dispute of whether xbox should run bluray. and last but not least, this would also leave room for more than one port. so you could leave like six games in your console at the same time without having to take them out, because the space taken by an sd card slot is extremely small, this would be possible

I'm not sure I follow. Saving the games to a SD card or instead of a dvd, the game is a SD card based?

Wouldn't there be a RAM problem?

sd card based. kind of like the n64, the games were on cartridges except this time around it would be an sd card, it doesnt even have to be an sd card. microsoft could come up with their own type of memory unit for the xbox.

not really. considering their are now laptops with sixteen gb of ram. i would be surprised if the 720 doesnt have atleast 6gb ram.

I think the best and fastest way for games to load is installed on hard drive. Whether it be from bluray dvd or diirect download. I think the next xbox will just have a much much larger hard drive and it will come standard

It's cliche but it's incredible how fast technology moves and I'm certain that the larger HDD will be the way they head with the next XBOX model ensuring many, many games can be installed onto the one unit.

I remember when I bought my 360 Pro about, well 3 years ago? I figured I wouldn't bother with the Elite because I mean, who needs 120GB of memory, right?! ;)

I feel the need to point out you are not the only one whos ever thought of this idea ... all the manufacturers have had a think about it and sony gave it a go with the psp and it was a total flop Plus the cost of SD as it is would make such a console prohibitively expensive and MS wouldnt wanna risk it
