While it still recieved a decent score (8.1) they seem to bash it for requiring SKILL and I can pull off 360 flips quite easily and I've even seen videos of people doing kickflip underflips which is damn impressive. There also seems to be quite abit of comparison between skate and THPG. Yes ok they're both skateboarding games and it's an obvious comparison but in a review aren't you meant to look at the game you're reviewing rather than saying it does this whereas this game does this.
I'm totally getting it but GT just didn't seem to get the point like IGN did where you skate to skate rather than going through all of the challenges as you'll be underwhelmed.
It should have been at least a 9. I played the thpg demo and laughed at it the whole way thru. It looks last gen and I got use to doing my own tricks to where nthe button pressing seemed way to easy. only th fans will get thpg. They just can't let go. This is the second franchise I had to let go of. Th and NBA Live from Ea sports.

He also complained about the camera angle, which I got used to because it looks at your feet and board, rather than your back. He also said people might not enjoy trying the same line again and again, but I've played the skate demo for over 13 hours... and it's just one little skatepark. So those negatives mean nothing to me, I guess he was just giving out the problems a casual gamer might have with the game *shrugs*
I'm definatly not getting skate I liked tony hawk american wasteland better than what I saw in the demo plus why spend $60 onthis when theres so many other greatgames coming out this winter.
I agree. After playing the demo I was starting to get a feel for the game. It does such a good job of immersing you in this skateboarding world and the guy that did that review just wanted to talk about how the levels suck. I like the feeling of accomplishment when I flip trick onto a rail, then off into a manual then flip out. I think its going to be a blast.

No, what he was doing was trying to build up thpg alittle by making it seem that skate will get boring. I can't do some tricks that I saw on gameplay footage, but will learn. The view still show what is in front of you. Just not an aerial view. I can skate better on this than thpg. And when you don't get a mission( thats what I call them on th games), you try over and over and over. I spent many a hours trying to do tricks on th and messing up or trying to win the comps. He is 1 of those people who can't let go of their beloved Tony Hawk.
i use to skate like a long time ago and the early tony hawk games were fun, but they also kinda pissed me off because of how un realistic they were. so i'm happy w/ the approach that they took for this game, and i personally realy enjoyed the demo and wouldn't mind picking this up somtime later this year.
