So for those of you who havent yet heard, GTA IV has online multiplayer, but when they released details they stated that the host would be able to pick what weapons, cars and other items were in the game. Do you think this could ruin the multiplayer? I mean imagine if CoD4 (for example) had host options like that. People would be turning off Juggernaut, M16, P90 and other powerful guns/perks that keep you alive. So eventually, unless everything was completely balanced, wouldnt the games just start becoming the same? No this car, or no that gun, like in Counter Strike source nobody likes using the AWP just because its a strong sniper rifle. Well thats my thoughts, what are yours?
Well it depends. If its a private or player match, then by all means give them the option to do what they want. If its ranked however keep it all the same.
Do we know what the multiplayer is yet? I seriously just want some free roam. My friends and I would have a blast jus driving around on sidewalks, blowing things up, etc. I don't need any fancy gametypes, though I will welcome them with open arms. As for editing weapons and cars, once again, I just want free roam with the regular GTA world you'll be playing in single player, but if you can do that for matches that require opposing teams and such, that could be a good idea for player matches, but definitely not for ranked.
I hope it allows players to group into rival gangs/mobs and fight for control of Liberty City. Aside from downtown shoot outs, it would be cool to rob and hijack other players. Just imagine one mob trying to deliver a truck loaded with drugs and the other mob trying hijack it for themselves. With the defensive/offensive formations players would undoubtedly form, that would make a deep multi-player experience.

yes we know what mp is. pretty much the whole city is open for play though i think only bourghs are playable in mp the whole city would be waaay too big. there is one game mode that i think sounds cool Cops and robbers. cops get cop cars and like gps stuff robbers dont. theres tons of other modes
