The new GTA sounds dumb so far. No more chainsaw/flamethrower?
On the other hand SR has online co-op for the whole SP; that right there is a buy for me. Unless GTA has online co-op, then I fail to see why I should buy it. Same old same old.
Saints Row was fun but I've had a lot more fun with GTA3 and VC (San Andreas was a dud for it sucked). I might no even get SR2, GTA4 seems like it is taking the series into uncharted waters for the series, reality not the absolute ridiculous over the top randomness that was San Andreas.

I agree, coop is becoming necessary in games today and I am glad to see more free roam games take advantage of the option. Mercs 2 and Saints Row 2 have gone to the top of my list of interests just because I'll be able to tear them up with a friend.
