I love gta 4, but ive heard many great things about saints row, and no. 2, so whats your opinion? which is better

Well I'd say GTA 4 is better than Saint's Row, but since Saint's Row 2 hasn't released I can't say for sure that it is or isn't better however I do believe it will be better though.
If it has to be a choice between one or the other I'd go GTAIV all the way. Obviously not played SR2, but I know it will offer some excellent alterations from the GTA formula. I'm mad on GTA and would always choose GTA (unless it really is sh*t) but if you can afford both, buy both

Well GTA IV can easily be picked up for $20 to $25 used now so buying both should be an easy option for him.
The "better" game would be GTA4 but i wouldn't doubt that SR2 will have a lot more crazy and fun things to do. GTA4 is a great game but it took a lot out that the previous GTA games have had which was a bummer to me. It looks like SR2 will be like the older GTA games which is why i can't wait for it.
Saints Row 2 is so more open than GTAIV. The options are almost endless on SR2. Changing your fighting style to changing your gang styles. The game is awesome so far. If you don't believe me go look up Shockwave 619 on xbl.
I love this entire genre of games. GTA 4 is shiny, ploished and the physics engine is excellent, loved everything about that game! SR2 looks like it will be loads of fun regardless of the fact that its no so techincally and graphically advanced. Seems like a great way to spend $60

Your avatar is crazy looking. I would say GTA 4 but at the same time i would recommend SR2. Reason being is i feel like GTA takes itself way to serious, like take the missions for example, i was playing last night and one of the missions was to blow up vans, didn't have much trouble with 3/4 of those vans but tell me how the fourth one decides to drive off. Now i have no problem with killing people then chasing the other guy, but if i failed a mission b/c one guy got away while I'm fighting an army, i think I'm gonna get upset. Also when you die during a mission they shouldn' t make you start at the beginning of the mission (BullS) but should have at least a check point. Because of these annoyances i turned the game off after playing for no more than 30 min
GTA..... really the only thing saints row had was multiplayer and the 360 shooting from the car ( and Rockstar comment on the 360 shooting) but as far more things to do in saints row i might give you that but GTA gets you into the story..... Saints Row is the unrealistic version of Grand Theft Auto's..... that's good but i will say GTA will always be on top.... but i cant wait to play Saints Row 2 and i played the first one and loved it but i see a good never ending battle of GTA v.s Saints Row from now to the end of days lolz
well, GTA IV is fun as fuk but it doesn't have much when it comes to customization. On the other hand saints 2 is gonna have alot of stuff to customize like ur character, ur crib, and ur taunts and such. but as far as gameplay goes idk about saints, i guess just wait till it comes out then compare.

Basically, if you want great graphics and "feel" of the game, get GTA IV. If you don't mind so much about graphics and want to have actual fun, get Saints Row 2. Not saying GTA IV is bad, but so far I've enjoyed Saints Row 2 way more.
If this topic was created 2 months ago people would be slamming you and saying saints row is garbage.
For me though, the answer would be both. A lot of ppl like the realism and story of GTA, but the custom options and extra content make saints appealing. Its up to you, which do you prefer.
