Okay, we all love sandbox, here's a pistol now raise hell in a city full of innocent pedestrian games right? But liberty city, in my opinion was a little too big for such a small storyline. Also, I'm a casual gamer in the sense that I work a full time job, I'm in college and I have a girlfriend. I dont have time to memorize a big city like that in the 4 hours i'd play in a week. Now I've had it for like 2 months now going on, and I still have to use the damn map...I'm not an idiot and yet I still have no idea where anything is unless I stick with the map and thats just a pain in the rear dont you think? Now a 13 year old who begged his parents for the game who goes to school for 6 hours a day has all the time in the world to play it, I know I did when GTA 3 came out, I was 14 I had no problems memorizing; 3, vice city, and san andreas. But I just think that for a 20 hour game, Islands with nothing at all to do in them and mindless streets and highways is a bit overkill. Realisic, YES but for a game? IDK you guys discuss what you think about that. Oh, and the airport...everyone loves the airport, then the FIB comes after you when enter the property? Whats with that???

Why do you need to memorize the city? You have a taxi cab that will take you to any marked location. You've got Brucie (assuming you've gotten that far) to fly you to other places of interest. You've got a GPS in every vehicle that guides you to anywhere you mark on the map. I think you are missing something if you are getting lost.

Well bud....I'm not missing anything, you're missing my point. My point is "duh" I'd rather be able to memorize the city than press start, view the map, do the whole gps crap...or ask brucie (who does that???) Or get a taxie when its more fun and better to memorize your environments. Am I the only person who likes to use their god given brain?

You're all retarded. Liberty City in GTAIV is one of the most accurate complex renditions of New York City to date. If you can memorize that, props. Otherwise just steal or spawn a chopper or take a cab.

I think his point is that he cant play fluidly and be guided by his instincts, he doesnt like that he is in middle of an activity and he has to press star look were to go and then activate the gps

i don't think the city is too big i think its too boring. there is nothing there, nothing to do, not worth driving around. even the story is boring i am finding alot of my friend have stop playing it because its the same thing over and over again and once you have do the story what else is there to do NOTHING. must be alot worse for ps3 tho because at-least we have achievements so it worth doing the police side missons ect.. but its not fun like it use to be i think they have tryed to hard and it did not work out for them.

You might think so but San Andreas is actually still the biggest one so far.

But there's nothing in it. Just a ton of fields full of nothing but polygon hills and polygon farmers farming polygon wheat.

it's not that it's big, it just that there are soooooo many streets in the city. driving around is a pain cuz you CONSTANTLY have to stop and turn(unlike others gta's where you can just turn)

Sandbox cities can never be too big. I take cabs a lot to get around the city. Sometines driving from Alderney all the way to Dukes or Broker can take a while so cabs are very convenient.

However it does serve as a challenge unto itself.
