GTA V crews how do they work?

So we were messing around on this last and for the life of us could not work out how to do the following on GTA V online:

- How do you get in the same team, as a crew, on races, TDM etc ... we always seemed to be split up!

- How do you all do a mission together? Does the leader activate it from say his phone and the crew get it somehow ...or what? All we want to do is say a few hiests or bank jobs, together as a team, where we share say the story intro and markers etc ... but being the noob I clearly am we couldn't figure it out

I wouldn't be asking if I actually couldn't get on now would I? I've actually had no issue getting on and playing, genuinely though I'm sorry you have!

But thanks for joining in and whinging ... next time maybe you could be part of a community and help answer a question instead of ...well... just being a bit angry :) x 

I still haven't had the guts to try Online, but the TC has the questions i want to know the answers to as well. So, when the time comes and the game is online-playable i will be ready.

There is an option on the start menu under online to invite people from your online friends. Then when you are in the same GTA universe as each other you can simply meet up drive to a race and play together, then provided you all vote for the same next event you should stay together.

The Campaign is amazing but the online is terrible.

Crews aren't a big deal unless you truly personally know everyone. People in your crew will still randomly kill you in freemode. The only real benefit is the RP boost from doing stuff together.
