GTA V, going back to San Andreas?

I, personally wouldn't like it. I think GTA: vice city was one of the coolest gta-games I played, I'm not really down with that hip-hop gangster style. I prefer as I mentioned before vice city, or the recent GTA4 much more.

The only similarity to San Andreas I'd like to see is the side of character development with weaponary and build etc. Apart from that I think for a stand alone title it would feel too similar to others in the series (by that I mean in story line etc.)

I Much prefer the gangster theme of GTA SA over any mafia themes

A few ideas:

GTA Columbia: the story is about the drug industry there. There's a huge south-american style city + a big jungle to explore. Driving a boat will be very important because you'll have to smuggle drug etc...

GTA Tokyo: you play a member of the Yakuza. The story is set in modern-day tokyo so a lot of high tech weapons and gadgets will be at your disposal. A very huge city with a lot of pedestrians would be nice here.

GTA the middle east: a gta situated in a country in the middle east with a lot of oil companies. You play of course a member of one of the maffias there. A big maffia war is going down about the little oil that is left in the country. Not only that but also the us army wants their share. So you not only fight other maffias but also the army. A big desert with one big city and some small camps is the scenery and you drive around with old bikes and run-down cars.

But yeah the next gta will probably be situated in a next-gen version of a city they already created in the past like vice city. The gta-formula works perfectly now and I enjoy all the gta games that come out. I just hope they will be a bit creative in the future. I would really hate it if all the gtas that come out in the future are situated in cities they already created like San Andres, Vice City, Liberty City.

NO, no, no! no custom character, that would really ruin the gta-feeling.

I love characters like tommy vercetti, Niko... I love how these characters fit into the whole engaging story that every gta has. If you were able to make custom characters, it would be really weird in some situations. Imagine yourself playing GTA4 with an over-the-top--whos-your-daddy-pimp... It just doesn't work. So I say let the developpers create an engaging story with a character they choose. and play Saint's row in you want a custom character.

HELL NO for the love of all that is good in this world please rockstar do not go back to san andreas that was a terrible terrible game the worst GTA titel to date. the mafia/ organized crime theme is where its at just like its predecessors. gangs make for horrible games and the dumbest possible gta plot. i can still remember when they first made me go spray paint gang signs around the city i thought thats it im done this is crap

i just hope they have a rural area (just a lil) and just make the whole area bigger, i mean big as ****.

up as well as down, like "just cause", area was huge, plus you can go high as hell (sky diving was awesome).

and SA was the best GTA cuz it had more things to do, u had more sidequests, u had more missiions, u had more characters, many of whom were actually enjoyable, u had more humor, u had more customization

If anything, it's the ones that aren't, that are the scum of the planet. The ones that CAN have everything, but choose to be "thugs" because they see it as glamourous.
