Yeah good news but about as surprising as EA declaring that next year they are going to release another Fifa.

How can you compare a sports release to the release of a franchise that hasn't had a new (console) entry in 4 years?
I really hope they come out with another one. But they REALLY need to bring back what they took out in San Andreas. I missed flying planes, the cheats were awesome, and grouping with gangs and stuff. Grands Theft Auto 4 kinda ruined a lot of the stuff I liked about Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.FallinsinnerI agree.
It builds anticipation. People complain when COD comes out too often and complain when GTA doesn't come out often enough. Rockstar knows what they are doing, and they have released some brilliant new IPs in the meantime. It would different if they had sat around doing nothing for four years. GTA is one of the top 10, maybe even 5, franchises in gaming. It will be around for a long time if they release it every few years. They should have been working to get GTA V out last year, or this at the latest. There's just no reason to let four years+ go by.

As much as i'd like to see GTA V out in 2012. I predict Rockstars future releases to be something like this:
May 17th 2012 - Max Payne 3
May 17th 2013 - GTA V
Feb-June 2014 - 1st GTA V Expansion Pack/Stories
May 17th 2014 - Agent
Oct-Dec 2014 - 2nd GTA V Expansion Pack/Stories
May 17th 2015 - Untitled Wii 2 project (Most likely new Midnight Club game exclusive for Wii 2. Later released on 360 and PS3)
May 17th 2016 - New IP/Sequel to Red Dead Redemption or Bully
Rockstar have a habit of keeping games in the dark until a few months before their release as they did with Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire.
Uh, no. You think that they would release a Bully or Bully sequel in 2016? Bully came out in 2006/2008 (scholarship edition), there is no way that they will wait that long. Frankly I've given up hope on a sequel for Bully. Besides its not like Rockstar only has one studio, they can work on multiple games with full effort simultaneously. At the very latest they started working on GTA 5 in 2009 after the last DLC for GTA 4 was released. That will have given them over 2.5 years to work on a game that they are experiened in making. I think we see it Fall 2012.As much as i'd like to see GTA V out in 2012. I predict Rockstars future releases to be something like this:
