Gta IV is a amazing game even if you don't like it, but I personlly believe that the next GTA game should not be on the current generation format due to the fact it will make it seem pointless. My reasons for this are.

1. Vice City and San Andreas are too similar

2. I doubt Rockstar would make a brand new engine for the same systems

3. It may not sell as many as people would complain it won't change the formula

What do you think?

I think you are completely wrong. One GTA game for this generation? That's just ridiculous.

I also was not blown away by GTAIV. I don't mean to imply it is a bad game, it is in fact a fantastic game BUT I think I expected more from it. Other than visually, the size of the city and no load screens it isn't much different than the previous GTA games. I enjoyed San Andreas a bit more. I haven't fininshed GTAIV, I just never really feel like playing it.

Again, I am NOT saying it is a bad game in any way I just had higher expectations for it. San Andreas had some very cool new things, all the different cities and the land between them, complete with little towns. There was nothing really mind blowing and new in GTAIV. It does have a deeper story but having to keep all your contacts happy is annoying. The mini-games like darts and bowling are fun the first time but it is tedious to have to keep taking your friends out on man-dates.

why wudnt it sell, regardless of same engine or not it will sell out like gta iv. just like all the other gta games did from gta 3. you say vice city and san andreas are too similar but look back each game broke the last games previous sales records so being simialr wasnt really to much of a bad thing. if its gta 5 then its going to be a new game, if they were just rehashing gta iv then it wud just get a extension to the name like vice city and san andreas. and they already said they are working on a more realistic gta V it for 360 and ps3 for this current gen. so it will happen. i think why some people never liked it as much as they though they wud is sandbox games aint as cutting edge as they were on the last gen, thats why u dont see them as much now. and they aint as new/original as they used to be, when gta 3 hit it was a total new style game, not many other games up to scratch that wud offer the same game type. many years on its lost its magic as many games used the format. gta iv was a great game i though. but were a few more realism bits that got on ur nerves. friends phoning up for dates was maybe a move to far for me in the realism but they were fun at first but in the end u wish they never phoned. you believe another gta on current gen wud be pointless, but whats the point in releasing computer games. to make millions, gta iv made more than most games. a sequel is deffos on the cards. and if EA ever get the company like they were planning on the take over then its a new GTA every year no doubt , then it might be a bit over board.

if it was released on the old-gen consoles, it would be alot worse than people claim it is, and would epic fail.

Technically the game is 10/10 since everything is just perefect about that game, Graphics, Vast World, No in-game loading times and etc.

but it was missing something that SA and which it didn't, San Andreas spent time on the litle things, not such as graffiti on the streets or litter on the floor, but uniqe things such as parachutes and jet packs, stuff that GTA IV was missing.

And of course they should have another GTA come out , this generation is going to last long, so I expect another GTA to come out , maybe about 3 years but I hope not before that. I just don't want to wait for a new console , cause thats about atleast 5 years I'm guessing.

I agree that there was nothing really new or groundbreaking about GTAIV ,but it also seems to me that one of the things that was really pushed on this ,as well as Vice city and San andreas was story and charecter development wich three four years ago was not as big a deal as it is today. games such as Doom, Mario bros, Sonic, the origanal Gta..... games that defined a Generation in advances in gaming have all kept the franchises alive by adding more depth to there storys and charecters. I think another GTA would survive in this generation but I would like to see something new.

now that Rockstar has the hang of its engine, it should be easier for them to make another GTA game and easily release it before the end of this generation. hopefully, they can learn from their mistakes and make the next one good. after playing GTA IV, all I can say is that it's so overrated, it can't possibly go any lower, so I'm hoping it has nowhere to go but up.

I see so much hating on this game and now I have to say something. The ONLY reason you guys are bashing this is because of the reviews. Had this game gotten an 8.5-9.5 noone would be sitting here complaining. Yes, it was not as good as the others as they took alot out(but added an entire multiplayer in its place) but as stated before, none of you guys would sit here bashing it had it not gotten a 10.

1. Vice city and San Andreas weren't that similar, completely different times/cars/music/story

2. I have a feeling you've never worked with a game engine. they arent going to make a new engine, and they don't need to. Do you know how many games are on the Unreal, or even Assassin creed engine? MANY! and they are all completely different.

3. If GTA changes its formula, it won't be GTA anymore. Though I will agree they need to add more activities, and things to do after you are done with the game. (still they wouldn't change the game engine, just add on to it)
