I like how you guys are saying most people loved it despite the fact that almost every poster in this thread has said they either hate it or think it's just okay.
It's like people who complain about rabid Halo fans. You see way more complaining than you do the actual fanboys.
Anyway, I thought GTA IV was fun. Thats good enough for me.
P.S. according to your gamercard you've never played GTA4. You may have played it at a friend's house, but unless you started from the beginning and gave it AT LEAST a few hours to allow for story development I don't hold your opinion or poll with much regard. Sorry :(snackdaddyWell I played GTA4 on the PS3 so that is my reason for it not showing up on my gamercard.

Though if that was the case this thread should be in the PS3 section.
I completely hate it as well. It was a total let down for me. Nothing new. Nothing! sure, you can download mods, but that's just one thing!! And I can't go online! It's my Dad's, and I'm not allowed going online, Nor can I because I have to log in and I don't know the password.
But anyway, the only thing that has changed, is the graphics. sure they may be better, but woopty doo! It's got better graphics then the rest!
San Andreas is the best. 2 player is why. and the play area is so freakin huge.

As you shouldn't buy a game you don't like. That's what intelligent consumers should do. My point being, I just question the length of time you gave the game to give it a fair shake. Playing the devil's advocate here, but site some reason's you "hated it". The reasons have to be pretty clear to have such distaste for a game. :)[QUOTE="munchlax99"][QUOTE="snackdaddy"]P.S. according to your gamercard you've never played GTA4. Umm hello, it's Grand Theft Auto, you can shoot people in the face with RPG's and slice their heads off with chainsaws.

So? You're still comitting virtual murder.
Both games have a story. So it's not like in GTA IV your just killing people for the sake of killing people unless you want to. In which case, thats the same reason you kill in Halo 3's, Gears' and CoD4's multiplayer. Your not actually playing some role in a story in either of those game's multiplayer games. Your just killing forthe fun of it.
I fail to see how this is any worse than GTA IV.

You know what Grand Theft Auto is mainly about? Killing people. In every single last mission, there is someone you have to kill. What is so fun about driving cars that are rendered badly, running over people and it doesn't react realistically, and killing civilians that don't do anything? The game is pointless!
San Andreas is the best. because it isn't based in a city, like most other GTA's. And it has 2 player.
But back to GTA4, killing people without reason in a game is utterly retarded. but then again, its funny when they are trying to kill you. Like in GTA San Andreas, I steal a bike from a granny, she pulls out an RPG. I used the cheat for that.
So then I guess the multiplayer mode every single shooter is stupid since your not killing for a reason, right? It's just a game.
You also do nothing but kill in Halo, Gears and Call of Duty 4.
And Grad Theft Auto 4's single player never forces you to kill inocent civilians.
If you think vitrual killing is so terrible, why did you even get a 360? Get a Wii or somthing. Most of the 360's best games are all about commiting virtual murder with guns.

Lol, you say Grad Theft Auto, heh heh, think about it. But anyway, I don't have a 360 but a PS3 instead, but seeing as how this is about GTA4, I didn't even buy it. I watched alot of the gameplay stuff, and trailers, and whatnot. and I've played previous GTA's, and they're all the same. I only like San Andreas, not for the killing and stuff, but because of what you can do. The story line in CoD 4 is awesome, same with Gears 2 and Halo 3.
In war games, you shoot a civilian, you get chewed out by your allies. in GTA, you shoot a civilain, cops come for you, you shoot them. It's stupid. Nothing but killing! That is all GTA4 is about! Just killing! in the other games you mentioned, there's more to it then just killing. But in GTA, that's all you do. Kill, kill, kill. And then kill some more. I can't even belive Rockstar made a game like this! I support it being banned in some countries.

Actually theres more to the GTA4 than just killing, but like the other games, killing is how you progress through the game.I'd actually argue that killing far less the focus of GTA 4 than it is in Gears, Halo and CoD4.
There are many missions you can complete and can only complete with out killing. And theres alot more things in general to do in GTA 4 that does not involve killing than those other shooters.
It shouldnt even need to be explained. GTA 4 is an Action adventure game. So naturally yeah, your going to do things other than shooting quite often. CoD4, Gear and Halo are shooters. So all you do is shoot living things.

Perhaps you should play a GTA game before you comment on it?
All you're doing here is making it abundantly clear you don't know what the game is about
personally i hate the game and i am wonering who else hates it!munchlax99Hate is a pretty strong word and, after reading your few posts, I don't see how you've justified saying "I hate this game". You also haven't responded to vashkey's comments in a logical fashion. Please keep in mind your position or stance on a topic is significantly more believable when you use facts, logic and reason to support your case. Spouting opinion(s) does absolutely nothing.
A lack of Chainsaws and Tanks didn't take anything away from GTA enough for me to hate it. I really, really like GTA4, it's one of the best games I've ever played. Those things add to a great package, but I didn't feel annoyed or disappointed that they weren't in the game. Plus GTAOnline to me was immense.
So all in all, in compliance with the poll, I love it.
