 ive seen those videos too. the pentagon one is pretty convincing. WTC was definitely a commericial airliner though. 

why are people complaining about not having planes. i bet u spend about 75% of your time or more running, walking, or driving cars/motrocycles and maybe 25% using planes/boats. gta 4 doesnt need it. planes arent that big of a deal.xbox360isgr8t

its definatly a partial reason. gta 4 is set in a city that looks a lot like nyc. has all the key buildings and what not. rockstar gets a enough bs from thompson, they dont need more with putting in planes and having people 9/11 the empire state building even though useally in the gta games all that blows up in a plane crash is the plane.

Its lame that we can't have planes just because it's set in New York and a terrorist attack happened. Yes, yes, people lost family, it was a terrible tragedy, but at the same time, are you going to let terrorists cramp your ability to enjoy a game? If terrorists hijacked a thousand cars in NY and drove them into the Empire State Building would GTA lose cars?

Censorship is wrong, for ANY reason. I don't care how pissed people get. Let me get this straight, it's okay to publish books about *anything* (the marquis de sade's writing anyone? hannibal? c'mon), movies can be about anything - but all of a sudden it's not okay to show a plane hit a building?

The terrorists have won when we support cenorship - ANY cenorship. Free speech means that we don't stop publishing things just because they're offensive. The reason they didn't put planes in the game is fear that they would face persecution - but that persecution should be illegal. In fact, it is, but the legal fees that would face to defend their constitutional (and according to our constitution god-given) right to free speech would be insane.

It is disrespectful to the memory of the dead Americans in 9/11 that we would support cenorship. They died because they lived in a country that supposedly supports freedom - freedoms people like Hiliary Clinton want to take away by forcing government regulation of the gaming industry. 

In fact - look at the most insane claim of all - the (obviously false) claim that the Bush Administration perpetuated 9/11. Do I think that's insane? Absolutely. I think you have to completely ignore engineering in favor of a film major who makes a video for YouTube based on his own personal bias and shody pseudo-science to believe that sort of thing - but I will defend to the death your right to make, view, and believe that 9/11 was a conspiracy. Ok, I few things.

I believe your right that part of the decision of not including planes did include the fact that it was in New York City. BUT, I don't think Rockstar would of changed their mind about it all because it IS in one city. Would you just like to fly around New York, crash into a building, and say "9/11!"? I wouldn't to be honest, and even if you would, there should be heli's in there that can do that  do that.

It's kind of sick how I see some of my friends, when they crash into buildings in San Andreas, at first they were all like "9/11!" thinking it was a joke. I never found it funny that a lot of people died that day, and I also don't think this had much to do with Rockstar's decision, beside the fact they'd have a crapload of lawyers trying to sue them (which will probably happen even with heli's).

Just my 2 cents.

Do you realize why there is so much hate? Are you stating that America was bombed on 9/11 because we kill and terrorize other countries? I believe we started the Iraq war AFTER we were bombed.

I do completely agree... But I also feel that somewhere along those lines there has to be a line to cross... If you are going to have all of those freedoms, you have to find someway to make sure they don't go to far. If there is no censorship, that means that people can show a pornographic film in a daycare, and no one can do a damn thing about it. Would that be a good thing?

I completely agree that it is stupid to support this kind of censorship in games... but I especially believe it's wrong because it's got the rating on it aswell. To ban such games... We may as well ban all books, movies, history, news, and hell, even the ability to TALK violent.

I just believe that there has to be SOME KIND of censorship or some kind of limit and control over what we show to whom.

I think the 9/11 thing is absolutely stupid.

A man can make a movie documentary about a government conspiracy (Ferinheit 911) and the government doesn't really give a crap... But yet, we can't put a plane in a SORT of new york like city because we are afraid some stupid kid is going to reinact the disaster?

Didn't United 93 and World Trade Center (both depecting different views of the tragedy) both reinact the same thing they are trying to ban in a video game?

If a company wants to input a plane in a virtual world that LOOKS SIMILAR to New York city.. then I don't see a reason not to. 

As mentioned before... We may as well take out all guns, cars, drugs, fighting, gangs, roads, buildings, air, sun, food, and water from the game... Since people get killed from guns constantly, get run over or die in a car wreck all the time, overdose on drugs, die in a fist fight, get killed by gangs or in gang wars, can crash, earthquakes cause buildings to tremble, air has pollution and second hand smoke which can kill, sun can cause skin cancer, unhealthy food causes heart attacks, and water can drown people.

So... Looks like... Games are done for?
