I Know it may not be big deal for all you gamers out there!, but after playing "fall out", "oblivion" on PC, and few other titlest that utilize the ability to interact with the environment even the ps3 home world, why is it rock star games always buildmaster pieces like "gta 4" and "red dead redemption" and other titles?but never have opportunity to emerge i mean interact in the world around you. Like for example there are times in gta4 in free roam mode, you have tone clubs that you cannot sit down in, i mean let's say you go get cup coffee and while your away! you and 6 buddy's are sitting at table chilling/relaxing, it could indicate it's your turf and tho in "red dead redemption" you have stand offs, wouldn't it be good to aim your gun at person and he/she feels angered for duel in club/bar/tavern! whats the point building a world if you cannot interact with it it's not huge mechanic to apply. nor brain science.

There are times in red dead redemption where after a mission or god knows what it was you were doing?tho the character john marston will stand up after sitting after finishing mission. at times i thought maybe it's a story driven thing that after so on missions you obtain new skills, well i am a complex gamer i like to utilize everything, tho alot research went in to rock star games, it does not take einstein to work out the finner things to enjoy game more.

I guess the question is why can't you interact in rock star games

as it be: sitting down in free roam or single player?

Kind regards to any one who can answer this!

Ohhhhh

Well I guess voice chat takes care of that. Like you can be in free roam and everyone in that session can be talking no matter where they are in the game.

Having to sit at a table or even be in the same room is kinda dull in a video game world but when you're able to communicate while one person is taking down a gang on bandits and another one is trying to find flowers to pick and another one is off hunting animals to reach an unlock goal that's better suited for a video game

I think i get what you saying and your right, it would be awsome to be able to sit anywhere and have a conversation with anyone, and basically just do whatever you wanted to. Make it like it was actually you in the game and you just got to go around living life. It would be more of a simulation with a basic story behind it that you could get to when you wanted. The problem with that though is that it would be way to hard to accomplish when creating the game I believe. There is so much that goes into the games to begin with having to make up the story, characters, locations, ect. to have to add in conversations with everyone and make everying in the world interactive. This could be accomplished in a very small map perhaps but on a map the size of GTA or RDR it would take so much work and so many hours I just dont know how effective or worthwhile it would end up being.

I may have totally missed your point, but I have often though to that it would be awsome to actually get into the game and do whatever you want. I just dont think were quite there yet. Maybe next gen.

picture a chair a chair in fall out 3, sit or stand up, simple but why not rdr, how complicated could it be. if you play red dead redemption you will notice camp points where john marston will kneel but not sit on log, why? when fall out 3 and oblivion had no logical reason to even use sit feature. but it made the game believable. and odd thing is rock star is legendary company so is bethesda makers butin the end of the gaming day i guess opinions mean little to developers if they did we would have all rounded games,

i agree to start a conversation would be hard for "rock-star" but each company has it's weak points and i respect that nothings perfect, but my point is why build a house if you cannot use it i mean sit, i would love to get off my hose sit in random house and talk over a mic, and feel apart of the game.

well i'll except your answer :) thanks for reply

Possibly another reason why this is not done more is because of the market the games are presented to. Fallout and Oblivion are maybe geared more toward people who like an rpg type game and will enjoy the subtile things such as taking a seat to have a chat with someone. While those intrerested in GTA will be more apt to want to blow things up and shoot people rather than get out of their car and sit in a diner for a bit. While there are going to be gamers who play both types of games there will more than likely be a majority playing one over the other. The companies will cater to those who are going to make them money. I would love however to see Rockstar make an all out RPG where you can do anything you want. They make so many quality games im sure they could really thrive in that market, and are on the edge of it anyway with the detail they put into their stories. But going back to market their going to even for myself when I want to play a game to blow things up and cause chaos I put in GTA, or a similar type of gameand when I want to really get into a game ill play Fallout, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, or games like that. Although GAT and RDR do have an excellent story its just not as deep as a good RPG where the details really matter. Again all just my speculation.

I would like more immersion as well.. but RDR (for example) imo did a great job with little details. You really need to play it to understand. All the little things such as the day/night/weather cycle.. the way droplets of water appear on your screen if you point the camera up while it's raining.. the way the grass brushes aside as you walk through it or dust kicks up if the land is dry.. the way tumbleweed reacts with the environment and how you can step on it or shoot it and make it break apart. There are many little details in this game which you have to carefully look at and you'll be surprised just how much work R* put into the game. Visually it's a stunning piece. So what if you can't sit on a bench.. by the way you CAN sit on a bench when you're on a train.. so that's something lol.

Maybe you're expecting to much? Overall, I just wish they made more interactive buildings. Such as robberies, train robberies (With free roam) etc. But i'm still happy with it.
