Well a few days ago I praised MS for finally sending me a console that worked. I praised the fact that it ran much much cooler thanks to the heat sink and it has the more efficient Ben Q DVD drive. Heres a link to the thread. I mean I was so happy finally after all this time I had a excellently working console. I was like a kid at christmas. And now this morning I wake up and decide to game a little before work, and I get nothing but disc read errors and thing heats up within minutes to almost burning hot. I had it on for a total of maybe 45 minutes to an hour, and pretty much all of my games are unplayable. Talk about bad luck:(

This saddens me:( I was so looking forward to having a great 360 experience finally, only been waiting since launch...it appears Ill be waiting once again:(

ANyone else get there 360's back with the new hardware fixes only to find it still not working? This is my eighth console to die on me. I have adequate room for breathing like 2 feet on all sides, maybe they just goofed on the heat sink or something....god this sucks:( AH well, its all good, I just hope they fix it this time:) I have been through this 7 other times whats one more:lol: Well off to work! Seriously though has anyone else had this problem with the new hardware fixes?

Thank god mine is only the second console...but after hearing this who knows what will happen later. =\

I also took out Nyko cooler after hearing that it may give your 360 go bad.

on my first...amazing how the ps3, though, doesn't heat up. At my office, we have a ps3 as well, it's on 24/7, luke warm, and has only frozen once playing DMC2. But x360>ps3 gaming wise.

wow you have had some real bad luck but i have to im on my third 360 right now but i think this one may last because it runs like 10x cooler then my last 360. my last 360 would get real hot like hot enough to cook an egg on but this one barley gets warm. also the disc drive is tearing up my games like the last one so i think they are starting to implement solutions into repaired 360s or at least i hope

WRONG! Niether of those apply to me. No inter cooler no cabinent, its spotless dust free, clean as clean can be with over 2 feet of space on all sides, apparently you didnt get the memo about 360's being faulty, and apparently the new hardware fixes dont help it either.

No wonder Peter Moore Jumped ship. He knew a storm was brewing just like he did when the Dreamcast went down.

shoo troll, shooviewtifulshmoe

LMAO....all of you people will call him a troll because he's had such bad luck with 360s. What you guys don't know is that I've been very good friends with this guy since last year, and he is absolutely telling you the truth. He is a launch day 360 owner people, and he has continued to support Microsoft since then. I can personally vouch for this guy. Hell, I'm waiting for #6 from Microsoft as we speak.

Just because some of you haven't experienced the same issues as he has don't be so quick to call him a troll. To all of you who say he's doing something wrong, get your facts straight. Microsoft released a statement saying that all systems sold have a possible defect that could lead to hardware failure. Add to that the fact that they extended the warranty to three years for three red lights ought to tell you people something. Read between the lines. Hell you don't even have to. Microsoft put it in your face.

Face it people. Whether you have had the same problems has him or not does not in anyway change the truth. This console is extremely prone to problems. Not because of the user, but because of the system. I'm sorry if you can't handle this, but it's true. The guy is not lying, and just because you guys don't like your precious system being exposed doesn't mean that he's wrong or that he's a troll.

I hope none of you have the issues that he has had, and to a lesser extent, that I've had. I know many people who said what all of you say, only to end up with the same problems. They sure changed their tune then, and so would you.

My launch consol is still in perfect shapeRamboSymbiot

i had 3 premiums, but i used them constantly not just for gamming or movies, but i also put that 32bit sound processing unit in the 360 to use with my home studio for some extras in (my music.) so it was on like 120-140 hours a week basically.

but then i got an elite, not because of my last premium messing up, because it still works fine, but because i am upgrading my tv soon to get the Sharp 32 inch aqous 1080p lcd, and i wanted to have the best console gamming experience with my 360, and soon to have in about 6 months ps3.

Maybe you should rent that movie called Loser, another fanbot who apparently didnt get the memo from MS about 360s being faulty. Its nothing but truth man, sorry you cant deal with that. I live in Wa. state were MS's has its headquarters, and its been on not only local but national news as well that the 360 is faulty and MS is spending 1.5 billion to try and remedy it.

Its really sad that the truth hurts your feelings, you must be emo.....*tear*

Wow....8! I feel terribly sorry for you. I would demand something for free if that happened to me. Anyways, I'm still on my first, which I got in Nov. 06. But I used to have to turn it on and off 5 times before anything would happen, but it somehow fixed itself and my 360 never gets hot. I'm really hoping I don't have to go through the trouble of replacing it.

Guys.... I have had my 360 since DAY 1 launch... and have played alot of greuling hours of halo 2 on it...and I have not ever had a problem with it (knock on wood).... what are you guys doing with your 360's... taking dumps in the disk drive? I mean how could you go through 8 of these things.... I think alot of these problems come from people not ventilating it well enough....you cannot block any of the vents or put it near any other appliances, tvs whatever....I know my friend had one of them blocked for a little while and he got the red rings ....or maybe someone is telling you guys you shouldnt own a 360... maybe go buy a Wii or PS3?

I take care of my consoles better than anyone I know. I give it an amazing amount of room to breath, keep it in one set position, and do EVERYTHING right. hell, I even check used games or rental games before I buy them to make sure they're as perfect as possible. The fact is this hardware is hit or miss. Very poor design. Who the hell puts semi passive cooling on a cpu/gpu anyway? (I.e. where the heat eminates freely and a fan blows it away.... instead of blowing a fan onto aheatsink which works better). Where the hell did they get these crappy dvd drives, too? I got 360 #3 five days ago, and I was greeted with artificing and disk read errors on day 2. Taking it back to see if #4 works out. There is no quality control, as much as I love the 360.

wow...I really feel bad for you dude :( I´ve never got any problems with my 360, it never heats up and it never freezes. In fact, I can play 10 hours non-stop and I don´thave any problems at all. I hope you get a good system now :)

Maybe you should know what you're talking about before you post. I'm so sick and tired of people telling me and all of the other people who have been affected that it's our fault. This is Microsoft's fault and NOT the user. You try dealing with what I've gone through, and what Rabbiddawg has gone through, and what ColoradoKindBud has gone through ,and all of the others have gone through and see how you feel and what you think.

If you choose to live in denial and support what Microsoft has done, then fine, that your business. Just make sure that you're informed first. Read this

"Robbie Bach: You should think of this as an issue that's Microsoft's responsibility. The partners who have done assembly and component work for us have done good work; we're very proud of working with them; we're going to continue to work with them. So you should think of it as a Microsoft design issue. Again, since it's multiple things, I hate to even point at design. To get at the heart of your question, it's really our responsibility, not anybody else's."

I believe that this person went through 8 consoles because of badluck. I am very meticulous when it comes to my 360. Never have I been like this towards a videogame console. I had a premium and it got the 3 redlights after a year and a month. I bought an elite during launch and it died got the 3 redlights. I returned it for a refund. I am on my 2nd elite and 3rd console. Luckily it has the new heatsink in it. I have a big space for ventilation and I wipe the dust off of it daily. Periodically I would use a dust cleaner to clean the fans in the back. I would let my 360 rest for the day. I would play no more than five hours daily if that. I would never exceed 6 hours of gameplay, unless my friends were hangingout and wanted to play games, which wasn't often. I used 3 cooling systems for all 360s that I owned/own. An intec notebook cooler a 4 inch fan on the back and one on the side. Both fans had their own powersource, and the notebook cooler was run by usb. I made sure that all 3 were turned on when I played. I made sure that anyone who played with my 360 would turn on all fans. I took all precautions to prevent the 3 redlights, but I got them twice. I think its inevitable to get the 3 redlights, or having problems.

actually, truthfully, its prolly abit of both, mostly MS's fault but in return alot of peoples systems messed up because they either didtn get it enough air, or bought some kind of third party contraption like an intercooler, or whatnot, so i think its a bit of boths fault, my first one i think was mostly my fault because i believe i moved it around way too damn much, my second i had in a corner, with less ventilation, but i thought to be plenty and prolly was just, MS made a defective 360, my 3rd (premium) was in PLENTY of room works fine still, but my 4th one (elite) i got just to upgrade like i said before to 1080p and pure digital output for my sharp 32 inch 1080p lcd aqous, along with my soon to have ps3 in a few months.

but i think its mostly MS's fault but alot of people just didnt take care of their system right.

On my third, first one froze, second one had three lights, and this one is giving me DREs. It takes me like 10-20 (even more sometimes, or rarely it will work instantly) of inserting and ejecting the disc to get it to play. Once it starts working it's fine unless I go to the dashboard or turn it off, then I have to start the process all over. It's really annoying because I can't just game whenever I want to or switch between games on the fly. It's also OOW now and the new warranty doesn't cover this error. I'd give up if it wasn't the only console worth owning this gen.

You have quite the bad luck my friend. I'm on my first from launch and nothing is wrong with it..

I was on my launch console until sunday just gone when the red ring struck. Now I'm taking it back to work to exchange it for another one. Not gonna mess around dealing with microsoft.
