I have been playing Guitar Hero 2 like crazy ever since it came out for the 360. And I just wanted to get people's take on the game. If you wouldn't mind, be a little more detailed than "IT WAS AWESOME!" I'd actually like to know why you think it's so awesome. And it'd be cool if I could get a person who actually plays bass or guitar to also leave feedback, so I can either see why my friends think it's a poser game, or so I can prove them wrong. Your comments are appreciated.

Well, without calling it "totally awesome" how would i discribe it....

I guess you could think of it as radical, b*tchin, dope, crazy, insane and super.

But really the best discription is that it is totally awesome though.

PS. I'm a drummer, it's good for timing.

I'm a drummer, overall the game has helped me with time and reading music. My little brother plays guitar, and he tells me the game is nothing like playing real guitar (obvious): the felling of the cords is not the same, the accords are not even close. He told me the easiest songs on the game are not even matched by the expert difficulty, although the overall experience is quite different. Hope that satisfied you.

Good to know. I personally never officially played a real song on a guitar or bass, so I'm not entirely sure what it's like. So basically it's good for finding better rhythm and that's about it? And also, did you mean that the expert songs on the game don't even equal the easy songs in real life?

No, let me put my words better. When playing the first couple of songs in expert you might get the feeling they are easier to play in real life, but they're not... it's kind obvious for real guitar players, but for all of us who don't have a clue, it's a good thing to have in mind.

Oh I never would suspect it to be the same. I picked up a guitar and tried to play it. It felt okay by holding it, but that was about it. I didn't know how to play it, so I just strummed a few strings and moved my fingers up and down to get the squeeking sound (it was acoustic), but I would never think that it is anything like playing it. So I have one last question for you: Do you think it's a poser game?

not really, If you think about it that way all games are "poser games". War games are posers for real wars, racing games are posers for real racing. Just because playing guitar is a more "normal" thing to do, doesn't mean the game is a poser.

I don't think guitar hero is a poser game at all i play guitar tho not well.. but i find that guitar hero helps with timing a lot and its also a very good finger exercise in my opinion i have learned to use my pinkie when playing the real guitar :)

Thanks for all the info. And gp19, that suggestion you made that all games are poser games, is very good support, I will use that, thanks lol.

i found it suprisingly fun. I was taking the piss of out my pal becuase he had bought it but then i went to his house to play on it and we spent hours on it, that was until his 360 froze and wouldnt start up again. Drinking while playing this game is a good way to play aswell, because you can see yourself gradually becoming worse, that is if you dont have to wait until your 21 to buy your drink. Unlucky.

some songs on hard or expert are actually harder on guitar hero 2 than on a real guitar.

being a drummer has helped with timing and my fingers and arms dont wear out as fast as others...but anyways gh2 is my favorite game of all time...its nothing like playing real guitar but thats what makes it so great...whats better than pressing five buttons and a strummer and feeling like a rockstar?
