k but i heard the guitars for Rock Band r kinda crappy, is that true? and also when is Guitar Hero 4 n Rock Band 2 coming out? nytime soon or prob. not?
My brother and I play it alot, and I was even playing with my mother the other day and she never plays games. The only games that we've played is GH3 on my brothers PS2, and Madden '97 on Nintendo 64.
It doesnt get boring either because of different difficulty, the new songs every week, and the different instruments. Ive downloaded about 4 songs when I got it last Sunday and when I get paid on Friday Im buying more points so I can buy more songs. They just released "Monsoon" by Tokio Hotel and I love that song, so every week theres probably a song you'll like.
I say go with Rock Band now, and then maybe get Gh4 when it comes out.

do not pick GH3 if you can wait for 4.the songs will be better (more popular) and more downloadable content will add to the bigger song list.so if i was you i'd wait for GH4 and then see how it compares with rock band.
I got RB a bit ago and it is great fun... but the question I would want answered (now that you know a GH4 is coming out) is will the GH4 drums work with RB? If they do I would probably skip on RB (unless you already own a guitar to play with, in that case what does it hurt to just pick up the title, no hardware) and wait out until GH4 comes out. I have debated GH3... but I think I'm going to hold out until GH4 comes out and then probably pick up the Guitar bundle only. I wasn't a big fan of the drums. In short then, I would try and hold out for GH4.
