i was a big fan of GH, but rock band is going to destroy GH this fall. the game just looks so amazing over all. the fact that you have a whole band of people playing at the same time, singing, drums, guitar, and bass, just makes it so much more fun.
RockBand looks to innovate more than GH III does - might as well wait for some reviews and impressions though rather than figuring this out in advance :)
I think all 360 owners should boycott GH3 over the DLC fiasco we've gone through with them. I feel cheated by them and want them to know it, so I'll be getting Rock Band.
I'm getting both, but think that Rock Band will be the better game. As far as guitar playing goes, I expect both to be very similar. RB gets the win for having drums.

I just meant the gameplay itself. I'm sure people that buy Rock Band and only play guitar will be just as happy as if they bought Guitar Hero.
Ive played Guitar Hero 2 for the 360 and i must say it is the best game out for the 360 at the time, just my opinion. However other than the price tag on Rock-band I'm gonna have to say its the better choice i mean playing with a whole band on a video game dishing it out with your friends as you rock to some 80's song, does it get any better than that on a video game other than going big league and making a real band. Not to mention that this game will have much more play time in it as you master the drums, guitar and vocals, shame there's no keyboard. I'm not saying that guitar hero 3 isnt going to be good but rock-band has the edge here i must say other than there small fan base from this being the first game of its kind. So overall id recommend rock-band over guitar hero. Hopefully this competition brings out the best in both games leading to the development of these to superb games getting even better.

I agree....the song selection on GH3 is going to have to rock the house to beat RockBand.
I'm going with GH 3 first, since I know i will be offered lots of fun. I'll get Rock band later unless it gets outstanding reviews and such, since I'm a bit worried of any sort of bugs or problems, especially since I don't wanna hear people wailing into their mics like idiots.
I'd say Rock Band as of right now. A thing that really drives me to it (besides the whole band interface) is the downloadable albums feature that is rumored to be in the game. If that is indeed, I'm going to get it, because I would love to have Nirvana's whole Nevermind album on there.
I'll probably end up getting both, actually. =/ But maybe just the game for GH3 because I'd already have two guitars.
