Guitar Hero 5 career mode, why do i have to stop and pick songs ?

In GHWT career mode i liked the way you pick a gig, you play through 4 or so tracks without going back to choosing stuff, then you play an encore and complete the gig. Where has this gone in GH5? Is there any way of playing the gig all the way through in order without stopping?

I was disappointed that you couldn't do it in metallica or greatest hits but expected it in gh5!
