Good morning Xbox360 forumers. I was looking through up-coming titles and saw that finally, Guitar Hero II is coming out soon to the 360. Maybe its just me, but I feel a little silly buying this game for multiple reasons. I have a girlfriend and we already joke about my love for video games and I would never hear the end of playing Guitar Hero. (Its all in a joking matter...I have the best girlfriend in the world when it comes to stuff like video games!). Also, I am a junior in college and don't want to seem completely lame sitting in my room playing on a video game guitar when I can play my $1000 Taylor guitar that is hanging on my wall. Anyone else have these dilemmas or am I the only one?
man, i was the complete same way of the first one for ps2...its gonna be lame, its a kids games...but nah' dude, its fun and addicting. i suggest you get, who knows your female might enjoy it, its simple and easy to learn
I went to a superbowl party where the party giver had Guitar Hero 2 set up on a tv on the side and there was not one gamer out of the 20 or so guys and women there except me. By the second half almost everyone had given up on the game and switched to playing Guitar Hero. It's a GREAT drinking game so it may have the opposite effect you expect, lol.
I wouldnt be concerned about what anyone else think or how you might seem to other people. My husband loves to play on PS2 and we have ordered the 360 Version. I tried to play it however I just couldn't't get the hang of it.  I see many people trying it and they always have a grin from ear to ear while doing so.Â
I understand your concern and in fact felt almost the same way up and until a couple weeks ago. I never played guitar hero I or II for that matter and would always hear from all different ages and genders of people who absolutely loved the game, however I was just always numb to it. That all changed when i went to the NY Comic Con a few weeks ago and they had a kiosk setup exclusively for that game on the 360. The line was usually always at least 5-6 people deep and seemed awesome to play against each other. This seems to be on of those must have games if you have multiple friends (and in your case perfert if you are living in the dorms) such as is the case with the Wii. I am even thinking of buying it myself now, after i have vowed to never own the game. The only thing that is really disappointing about the game is the lack of LIVE support. But if you are living in a dorm, pick this game up and i guarantee you will end up having to kick people out of your room every night.
If you enjoy playing Guitar, then you should love playing GH2. The reason you give for not wanting to play is actually a reason why you should... it's aligned with your interests.
i know lots of people that play guitar that play guitar hero, id ont know why they feel gay when they do it, i mean its a game. and plus feeling lame for sitting in a college dorm room playing video games? thats what college is, sitting in a dorm room playing video games and drinking bourbon
