Alright, in the past month, I've been through 2 wired headsets. The black plantronics one and the regular X360 one. the regular X360 one decided to not work yesterday in the middle of the game. i swear it just stopped. The same with the Plantronics one. So i'm forced to use a small whtie earpiece wired mic(also made by plantronics i think) and it is HORRIBLE. no one can hear me on Live.

So my question to you is, what should i do? Do i want to spend $60 on a wireless mic, even though i've heard many of its perils? or should i invest on a turtlebeach headset? OR should i spend another $20, for like the 4th time in my gaming career, on another reg. 360 headset?

I have a wireless mic and have experienced no problems with it at all, except forgetting to charge it before a big game :P.

I would invest in a turtle beach which is a good quality low budget headset if your looking for something more ecpensive but higher quality you can check out the A40 Audio System (Amp + Headset) from Astro Gaming (www.astrogaming.com).

I have one and I swear by it!

Wow, those astro headets look serious lol. But unfortunately, i'm not ready to plop down $200 for one. So I'm doing a little research and I'm thinking of buying the TurtleBeach Ear Force X1.

The wireless mics are nice if you don't mind charging them after EVERY time you play. Mine hurts my ear after extended play sessions too. I would recommend getting another wired one.

Your an idiot... M$ can send you mics for free for as long as you want....

I just traded most of them in for $5 at Gamestop or kept them for backups.

i recomend that you get a wireless mic, i have a wireless mic and ive had it for almost a year, i have not had a single problem with it, and if you do decide to get a wireless one just put it to charge overnight or when you are not playing you 360, thtat is what i do amd i never regret buying the wireless mic.

whatevr u do dont buy a skull candy mic, that is the worst headset u can buy....i learned that the hard way....if i were u i would just buy a reg. wired or wireless one, although the wired one can become a pain in the neck, because u get over excited from a headshot u got from across the room with no scope and u hop up, the mic might get unplugged.

I didnt want to say anything but those guys play alot. I can play a 2 hour or 3 hour session but that is once a week maybe. 10+ is way too much unless it is like -40 degrees outside but even then I would find something else to do.

lol i know, my playing hours are crazy. I'm 17 and I'm currently waiting on my dad to open his private doctor's office so i can be employed. And he's about 1 month away from doing that.

On top of that, it's summer and all i do is wake up at 2 pm, play till like 8pm, eat and watch some baseball, then get back on like at 10pm until 4 am. rinse and repeat

if there's one thing to balance out, it's that on school weekdays i can't play. so yea, just making up for lost ground here :P

Yeah your playing hours are insane. Its summer so go outside and chase some girls or something. But waking up late is ok. Video games are entertaining but in the end you dont learn anything and it keeps you locked inside which means your interaction with actual people is very limited. You will be surpised what the world has for you outside your house and video games have nothing on that. I like to play too but I only play on Sun, Mon, Tue nights because the rest of the days are for going out and party.

Good choice, I just went and picked those up the other day at Best Buy. The sound coming through them is really good, and they have a large amount of bass that actually sounds good. The bass can be a bit overpowering at times, but not so much that you wouldn't want to use them. I've enjoyed them so far. Plus, they are very good for gaming at night (which is the only time I use them) because you can have the volume up as much as you want and you won't disturb anyone else in the place.
