Guys, You do know that there won't be a Halo 4, right? (SPOILERS)

Guys, I know the truth hurts but sometimes you have to face it, Halo is over and done with. The Covenant have been torn apart after the death of the prophet of truth and the flood have been terminated. So whats the point of a sequal? Who would we fight? I know the ending for halo 3 hinted at a sequal ( Where we see Master chief drifting towards an unkown planet ) but that ending was there to keep us imaginig what would happen to him.

Even if they did a prequal , it wont be as epic as Halo CE since some main enemies wont be there such as the flood and the brutes, drones.The formulawill start to go stale aswell.Plus the books already told us about master chiefs history. So guys, I know we've had a blast over these years with halo, but now its it time to move on. Halo will remain forever in our hearts.

Technically there will be a Halo 4 -- it'll be a movie in the year 2009. No game, though. Then there's going to be Halo Wars...but that's a prequel.

I always believed Marathon was a prequel to the Halo series though.

I seriously doubt that we've the last of Halo. Obviously, that Halo Wars game is coming out and I'm sure we'll see plenty more after that. I'm not saying I agree with this. I love the Halo trilogy and I believe it should be left as-is. But the Halo series has been a cash cow for Micro$oft and they're going to try to squeeze as much money out of the Halo name as they can before they let it end.chappy4310

Halo 3 was amazing at first due to all the hype, but after that died out, it left me disappointed. I dont even play the multiplayer anymore. Bungie needs to move on, because they arnt doing anything new with the Halo series to make it different from Halo 1.

Peter Jackson is making a Halo game. My guess it will be a prequel, if you've read "The Fall of Reach"

*Sigh* Well, you are definitely right and you are definitely wrong. Right that it's not likely that there will be another Halo game, but wrong about the reasons. If you paid attention to all the crazy commercials of that diarama and checked out the "Believe" website Bungie and M$ made, you would have seen the big idea of the Brutes invading Earth for one big battle in which Master Chief is there and is seen making the ulitmate sacrifice (or is he?). So no, there won't be another game, but at the same time, the covenant is not gone, though it is in disarray without the leadership of "Truth" being gone. It is all setting up for the movie they are still in the process of making. No I haven't seen any script, so this is all from my reasoning, but it is very likely if you paid attention: The Brutes and what's left of the Covenant are in disarray from the prophets being dead, but on the other hand, the Brutes now have complete control of the remnants of the Covenant and decide to head over to Earth and finish their fight. SO Earth is getting its @$$ handed to them when somehow they discover Master Chief floating around in space and bring him back in the knick of time.

And that is about as much as I feel like getting into it. So no, no more games about Master Chief, but the story not over. They did not leave Master Chief to float in space "just to keep you guessing". That would be dumb and serve no purpose, and as many of you that bash on Halo 2's ending think that's what they do, Halo 2's ending did have a real purpose. There were just too many people with no vision or patience (mostly no patience).

Bungie said in all most each of their recent interview that they have extended their area of development and are now going for devlopment of more than one title at a time. With that they also mentioned that they do have a team who want to work on Halo so they are letting them do that. Therefore their could be Halo 4, not only that many people on the team have new ideas so they may make the Halo franchise more better.

Dont you think that Halo 3 was not revolutionary it had excellent graphics but gameplay was deravative from its prequel, also the multiplayer component is like a upgrade to that of Halo 2. Dont you want a new Halo which define the fps gerne again and anyone would take the example of Halo for this gerne not COD4.

at the end of the game it said it could be years before master chief was found, thats enough time for the flood or the covenant to reform and regroup and start planing attacks or sumtin. Also maybe he drifts off to some planet not yet mentioned in and halo game, and he has to struggle to survive or sumtin (not that i like this idea but it's a possibility). Or there could be a civil war on his planet when they finally find him and you have to help regain control.

These are all just ideas, not saying there gr8 ones but they are possibilities.
