Delete your Halo 2 folder off your HDD and d/l the updates for it. After this d/l the maps and happy playing even though I don't understand why people buy 360s just to play a game they could of been playing for 2 1/2 years now...
Check your family settings, they're on by default, but you can turn them off, one of the parental controls on by default keeps you from playing original Xbox games on Live, after you change the settings, delete everything from Halo 2 then go back into the game and re download the map pack.
You need a harddrive if you want to play bc games (I'm guessing you already have one), so your solution is to probably delete Halo 2 off your hard-drive and then re-put it back in. That's the only solution I can give you.
I got the childs account working, I go in... unblock everything, I sign out... I sign abck as it tells me to... I go back to check and everything else is blocked, what is going on?
It worked for me about a year ago when I played it last. Do you have an active account? If you do..I don't know what else to tell you. If you don't then that may be your problem.
The same happens to me. It doesn't let me play Halo 2 online, it says i don't have the necessary maps and when i try to download the necessary maps there is nothing to download. How ridiculous is that ? That's how good live is.
If you're trying to play Halo 2 or any other original Xbox game, you have to get on Xbox Live to make your 360 backwards compatible for that game. Doesn't work for every original Xbox game, but a lot of them (including Halo 2). There is a large list of backwards-compatible games for the 360. If you don't have a real Xbox Live account (gold), you still automatically have a silver account simply by owning a 360, although you need a high speed connection. So if you have your 360 connected to the Internet and try to play an original Xbox game, it will update for you, or at least give you that option. Sorry if I'm repeating something you already know. Depending on your age, maybe your parents were messing with the parental controls? Anyway, I hope this helps.
