Halo 3 a waste of money

So i got halo 3 for my xbox and after playing it for a while i havent been able to see whats so good about it, really the graphics arent good and the "fighting system" is really weak you just have to fire and not like for example gears of war wich is way better.

So please give your opinion about this game or try to make me change my mind... lol

I don't agree and I'm a big RPG player and not so much an FPS player.

I played it on Co-op with some friends and it was a blast, now I don't have Live yet, so I can't comment on that part, but it was the first Halo game I've ever played and it was just pure fun.

I'm actually considering buying it...

Gears of War doesn't touch Halo 3 in multiplayer and i've played both for a while. Gears lags too much, and has a host advantage which ruins the experience. I've hardly lagged at all in Halo 3. The matchmaking is far better and puts you in a reasonable skill level. The game is more balanced than gears too. I love Gears SP and coop but the mp hurt it imo. Hopefully Gears 2 mp is better than the first. Also you say fighting system is weak. Last i saw Halo 3 is an FPS. It takes alot of skill in killing someone in that game. You just have to get used to it.

Why I bought Halo 3:

-Campaign Co-Op (2 player splitscreen, 4 player online)

-4 player splitscreen online

- Forge

- Theater

- Great Multiplayer

Those are what made Halo a buy for me. And I don't regret it one bit:).

halo 3 was a drop off from the original series. If you don't like it now, than just sell itownzone55

GeOW was a waste of money for me. There's no weapon variety in the game at all. Once you take out the guns that are staples in all FPS games, you wind up with two or three original weapons. The cover system works too well. Marcus and his buddies are so damned athletic that they can dodge even close range shotgun blasts like they're the thundercats or something. Trust me. I've done it. Everybody in the game pretty much equips shotguns and then hoofs it to the nearest good weapon drop, only to fight over it like a bunch of starved lions over a peice of meat. Knievs_101

u just gotta get used to it. the shooting and stuff in halo is actually really complex compared to other shooters. and its the only game that really takes a lot of skill.nahmean187

that reason, my friend, is that it was extremely hyped. Keep in mind that it made record sales at it's release, which means that it made record sales without people even playing it first. If that isn't hype i dont know what is.

I probably wouldn't even have Halo 3 if it wasn't for the fact that it came with my xbox.

yeah when you see how mgs4 wraps it's series up, you look back and see other series endings like halo and just shake your head in pitty

you obviously didnt get very good at halo then, which isnt a reason to bash the game

halo requires a ton of skill once you get up there in level, players that are 45+ are usually all more than competent and would probably scrape you, reeeeeeal quick

and please, whoever gets sniper or sword first? whoever hits melee first? those are the only things required to dominate the game?

Am I the only one who absolutely LOVES both Gears of War and Halo 3? I feel they are different enough they don't step on each other and that they both have their amazing qualities...

Now CoD4 on the other hand I wish I never purchased! LOL

When i first played Halo 3 i could'nt figure out what all the fuss was about. I could'nt really follow the story because i missed Halo 2 and the action seemed to be missing something. But then i started again and I really enjoyed playing the game on the higher difficulties, and I (kind of) figured out the story and thought it was pretty good??? I liked it...................but I can see how it might not be everyones cup of tea.

skill? ..... you have GOT to be kidding me. you're post is the only reason that I'VE posted. ... complex?? heres a fun fact- halo is made for the sole reason that it is fun and DOES NOT require lots of skill. thanks, i'll have trouble sleeping tonight because i know that there is someone on the planet who has your opinion.. lol

When looking at it, I think its a great game, not because of its campaignn mode, but the online is fantastic. you can't dissagree with that, forge, theatre, matchmaking, and weekly updates make the online play better than any other game. Also jesus christ people, it seems that you want like revenge on bungie or something becuase you don't like Halo 3, all in all halo 3 IS worth buying because it is the quintessiential xbox game that shows what makes the xbox so much better than the PS3, great online play

p.s. PS3 fanboys quit ranting about how bad halo3 is and worry about keeping your only good exclusive game (mgs4) off the xbox

If you don't have XBL GOLD, then yes... Halo 3 isn't all that good.

ONLINE on the other hand, you really can't go wrong, and you'll be playing for months on end, CO-OP is also excellent online.
