Halo 3 ending? (SPOILERS Read only if you beat!!!!)

First off great game, but I thought the ending was kind of weak. So my ? is who "died" MC or was he talking about Col. Johnson????? That was kind of weird. Any help would be appreciated.

Well we clearly saw Johnson die, but the "he" they were referring to is Chief. But I hope you didn't just end the game during the credits bcause there was something that happened after the fact that pretty much clears up everything.

yeah but even the trailer after the credits didnt explaing too much.... not in my opinion.

Arbiters "Where it so easy" is whats buggin me, what the hell does he mean?

if you beat it on legendary they show chief floating in a piece of the frigate with cortana, deep in the middle of space. Master chief puts himself in cryo and cortana throws out a distress call saying "it may take years before anyone finds us." On legendary they show the half of the frigate drifting towards a planet that suddenly lights up and looks like a completely metalic planet with some tense music playing, like it was a bad omen or something. Ive heard theyre making another game set in the same universe and time so maybe then we'll see what happened to the chief.
